Lake Lanao College Inc. — July 27, 2025

The Social Work Student Council (SWSC) successfully held its first official meeting on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Old Building of Lake Lanao College Inc., presided over by SWSC President Farhan G. Dimakuta.

Gathering officers and class representatives from both first-year and second-year levels, the meeting served as a vital step in organizing the council’s agenda and direction for the academic year. Attendees discussed matters central to upholding professionalism, leadership, and the mission of social work.

Key agenda highlights included:

Finalization of departmental rules and regulations

Clarification of officer duties, expectations, and boundaries

Review of the Council By-Laws (CBL)

Establishment of twice-a-month regular meetings (every 1st week and mid-month)

Introduction of disciplinary measures for non-compliance and negligence

President Farhan G. Dimakuta emphasized the importance of unity and accountability, stating:

“We are more than just title holders, we are advocates, leaders, and role models. Let's continue to serve not for recognition, but for responsibility.”

The meeting also highlighted the outstanding willingness of officers and student volunteers who stepped up to contribute ideas, organize tasks, and help lead specific council functions. Their initiative and dedication were greatly acknowledged and praised.

"Special thanks to those who came prepared, volunteered, and actively participated. Your commitment reflects the heart of true leadership,” Dimakuta expressed in his closing message.

With plans set for bi-monthly meetings and stronger coordination ahead, the SWSC moves forward with clearer goals, firmer responsibilities, and a united voice, living up to its name as the Voices of Service.

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, the entire Lake Lanao College Inc. (LLCI) community mourns the passing of our beloved founding president, Dr. Taharoden Ampaso Ariong Angni Alawi Alamo Ampao Maruhom Kahar Wahab, J.D., also known as Sangcopan a Adil sa Raya.

📍 RAYA SULTANATE MOURNS THE DEATH OF LAKE LANAO COLLEGE PRESIDENT TAHARODEN WAHAB

From the officers, students, faculty, and every soul who found a second home within the halls of LLCI "ang pangalawang tahanan kung saan inaalagaan ang bawat pangarap ng bawat Meranaw" we send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

He may no longer be with us, physically, but his legacy is eternal. Born to farmer parents, he fought against the odds to finish his studies. For ten years (1992–2002), he served in various private schools in Marawi City and witnessed firsthand the silent struggles of orphan students those who cried during exams because of unpaid tuition, and those who dropped out due to poverty.

Determined to rewrite their story, he established the Lake Lanao College Foundation Incorporated the only school in Marawi and Lanao del Sur devoted to orphans and the poor. Through this institution, he made education a tool for hope, dignity, and change.

🕌 Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.

🤍 Thank you for your unyielding service to the Maranao people. You will be missed, but never forgotten. May your soul rest in eternal peace.

From the Students and Officers of Lake Lanao College Inc.
