The Daban 8814 Red Frame Astray MG 1/100
Honest take:
This unit was a reissue. I was hoping that it would become better but I think it is safe to say that while it did improve, it is still lacking.
Plastic:
The material is what you would expect. Nothing missing from the runners. Has some extras since that is their signature. Easy to cut and does not have that much excess in terms of printing. There will be the usual dilemma with the finger parts like it's a bit loose and there are excess plastics you need to cut. But overall it has a nice feel and doesn't break easily.
Fittings:
I had no issues or whatsoever with the fittings. It may be a little bit loose with the fingers but nothing a joint strengthening pen wouldnt fix.
Decals:
Im not a fan of the included decals because of rhe "love" prints. Literally "love" was printed. I believe the kit itself does not really need that much detail since it weilds a katana. Nuff said.
Posing and flexibility:
One can argue since it is an MG. While versatility is not its strong point. It is still posable.
Overall rating and recommendation:
This is a good kit if you cannot afford the original one. This went for P3,000.00 including the Gorilla Arms and the giant Sword and Hilt. It does come with a base so it is a win.
Would I recommend buying it? No. But only for its size. It is huge! If you are trying to collect only and has space for it then yes, go ahead.
If youre planning on getting one. I got mine at Snap-fit Collectibles.
