Bringing Opportunities Closer to Aspiring Cadets in Baguio City

Today, October 4, 2026, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) team visited Baguio City National High School in Baguio City, Benguet as part of its continuing efforts to bring information and opportunities closer to aspiring cadets and their families.

Bringing the MAAP Entrance Examination to areas such as Baguio City, similar to our initiative in La Union, is important because it gives qualified students from Northern Luzon greater access to an opportunity that could potentially change the course of their future. Conducting the examination closer to their communities helps lessen the challenges of travel, transportation, and other expenses that applicants and their families may encounter when traveling to distant examination centers.

More importantly, these initiatives allow students to learn about the scholarship and educational opportunities offered through MAAP, which may provide qualified cadets with access to quality maritime education, training, and the opportunity to pursue a career in the maritime industry. By bringing the examination closer to communities, more deserving and talented young Filipinos are given the chance to discover and pursue this opportunity.

The success of this initiative would not be possible without the support of schools and local communities that open their doors to MAAP. We sincerely thank the administration, faculty, parents, students, and cadets who assisted our team during the visit.

MAAP remains committed to reaching more communities and ensuring that distance does not become a barrier for deserving young Filipinos who aspire to become future maritime professionals.

From La Union to Baguio City and beyond, MAAP continues to bring opportunities closer to those who dream of a better future through maritime education.

MAAP Conducts Entrance Examination at Naval Forces Northern Luzon, Poro Point

On October 3, 2026, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) conducted its Entrance Examination at Naval Forces Northern Luzon, Poro Point, San Fernando, La Union.

MAAP extends its sincere appreciation to the Naval Forces Northern Luzon, Poro Point for graciously allowing its facilities to serve as the venue for the examination. Their support provided aspiring maritime students from La Union and nearby communities with a valuable opportunity to take the first step toward pursuing a maritime education and a future career at sea.

Bringing the entrance examination closer to aspiring applicants in the region is especially meaningful, as it provides qualified students with an opportunity to be considered for MAAP’s scholarship program, which offers comprehensive support throughout their education and training.

Through the MAAP scholarship program, successful scholars may receive:

●Scholarship grant
●Free board and lodging
●Insurance coverage while enrolled in the Academy
●In-house shipboard training
●Personality, character, and leadership development through physical fitness, emotional literacy, NROTC, and various extracurricular activities
●Access to modern equipment and facilities
●Opportunities for gainful employment aboard modern vessels of foreign shipping companies

MAAP is grateful to the Naval Forces Northern Luzon for supporting an initiative that helps bring these opportunities closer to the youth of La Union. Through the cooperation of partner institutions and the local community, more aspiring maritime students are given the chance to discover their potential and pursue a fully supported pathway toward becoming future maritime professionals.

On October 3, 2026, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) successfully conducted its Entrance Examination at Cauayan City Stand-Alone Senior High School.

MARITIME ACADEMY OF ASIA AND THE PACIFIC CONDUCTS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AT MANILA HIGH SCHOOL

Today, October 3, 2026, the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) successfully conducted its Entrance Examination at Manila High School.
A total of 307 applicants took the examination, comprising 254 pre-registered applicants and 53 walk-in applicants.

MAAP extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Josefino Mendoza II, Principal of Manila High School, and the school’s officers and staff for graciously allowing the Academy to administer the entrance examination at their prestigious institution.

We also extend our appreciation to the Parents’ Association of Manila for warmly accommodating and supporting us throughout the activity and to the cadets who assisted us.

Special thanks are likewise extended to Sir Bryan Talingting and his team for their dedication and efforts in administering the examination and ensuring its smooth and orderly conduct.
