Beware beach -goers!
A heartbreaking incident has shaken a family and community after a young girl tragically lost her life due to a jellyfish sting, known locally as salabay
According to a post by Flordelyn Egos Guartethe victim was her niece, and the jellyfish involved is suspected to be a box jellyfishone of the most venomous species in the world. Its sting can be fatal within minutes.
This tragic event serves as a wake-up call for all beachgoers. Please take precautions when enjoying our seas:
Know the Risks– Check for jellyfish warnings before swimming
Wear Protection – Rash guards or protective swimwear can help
Bring Vinegar– It helps neutralize the sting, never use fresh water
Act Fast – Seek emergency help immediately if stung
