The Division of Davao del Sur successfully held its Division-Wide Kickoff for National Teachersโ Month today, September 9, 2025, bringing together education leaders, teachers, and learners in a celebration that honored the noble profession of teaching at Sinawilan National High School.
The program was graced by the presence of Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Lorenzo E. Mendoza, who inspired the participants with his message on the enduring impact of teachers as nation-builders and lifelong mentors.
Mr. Christopher P. Felipe, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, also delivered a message that highlighted the crucial role of innovative and passionate educators in shaping learners for the challenges of the 21st century.
Also in attendance were Education Program Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors, School Principals, and School Heads from both elementary and secondary schools of the Division, alongside selected teachers and learners who added vibrance and significance to the event.
Messages of support were extended by the Office of the Provincial Governor, Hon. Yvonne R. Cagas, represented by Sir Genaro R. Dumayas II, Secretary of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
In his speech, he expressed deep gratitude to the teachers for their commitment and sacrifices in molding the youth of the province.
Ma'am Rosita C. Mabaya also spoke in her capacity as Chairperson of the School Governance Council and as representative of the Office of the Punong Barangay, affirming the strong partnership of local government and the education sector in advancing quality education.
The kickoff served as a meaningful tribute to the dedication, sacrifices, and passion of educators, while setting the tone for the month-long celebration of National Teacherโs Month.
It also underscored the collaborative effort of stakeholdersโfrom division officials to local leaders, from principals to learnersโin honoring teachers as pillars of hope and builders of the future.
As the event concluded, a renewed sense of unity and appreciation echoed across the gatheringโa testament that in Davao del Sur, teachers remain at the heart of education and the soul of every community.
The Division of Davao del Sur also extended its heartfelt gratitude to Sinawilan National High School, the host school of the event, under the leadership of Mr. Elixes B. Eleccion, Principal III, for their warm accommodation and active participation.
Likewise, appreciation was given to all teachers who diligently carried out their duties in the various working committees, whose collective efforts played a vital role in the overall success of the kickoff celebration.
The Division also acknowledged with gratitude the support extended through the monetary donations of the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur and the Barangay Council, which significantly contributed to the success and smooth conduct of the program.
