DEL ES Activates Starlink Connectivity Through City, DICT, and School Collaboration

City of Mati, Davao Oriental — Don Enrique Lopez Elementary School has successfully received and mounted its Starlink internet kits following the endorsement of City Mayor Mayo Almario to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

In his formal communication to DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda, coursed through DICT Region XI Director Evamay Dela Rosa, Mayor Almario requested consideration of the school’s proposal under Project S.C.A.L.E., which seeks to address connectivity gaps through satellite technology.

The Local Chief Executive emphasized that strengthening digital infrastructure in geographically challenged communities is essential to ensure that learners are not left behind in an increasingly technology-driven academic environment. He underscored that meaningful progress in education requires close cooperation among the school, the DICT, and the City Government, with each institution playing a defined role in expanding access to reliable internet connectivity.

The installation and activation of the Starlink kits mark a concrete step forward for the school, improving campus-wide internet access and opening greater opportunities for online instructional materials, teacher training platforms, and other digital learning tools.

The initiative reflects Mayor Almario’s long-standing commitment under the MAYOng Edukasyon para sa MAYOng Kaugmaon program and advances the People’s Administration 10-Point Agenda, particularly its priority on strengthening education and digital access as foundations for inclusive development in the City of Mati.

Airline Companies gihangyo nga ikonsiderar ang Siyudad sa Mati isip Bag-ong Destinasyon sa Mindanao

City of Mati, Davao Oriental – Gihangyo ni Mayor Mayo Almario ang mga airline companies sama sa Cebu Pacific Air, Philippine Airlines, ug SkyJet Airlines pinaagi sa suwat nga ikonsiderar ang Siyudad sa Mati isip bag-ong destinasyon sa Mindanao. Tumong niini ang pagpalig-on sa konektibidad ug pagduso sa turismo sa silangang bahin sa rehiyon.

Ang Mati gipasiugdahan isip priority tourism hub pinaagi sa hiniusang paningkamot sa Department of Tourism, Kongreso, Provincial Government, ug City Government. Lakip sa gipasigarbo sa syudad ang Pujada Bay ug Mayo Bay, nga apil sa Most Beautiful Bays in the World, ug ang Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, usa ka UNESCO World Heritage Site.

“Ang paliparan gilaraw alang sa commercial operations ug direktang air access sa Eastern Mindanao ug gilaumang magserbisyo sa mga biyahero gikan sa Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Agusan del Sur, ug Surigao del Sur,” sumala sa MAYOr.

Nagapadayon ang konstruksyon sa New Mati Airport nga gilaumang mahuman sa sunod tuig.

Ang City Government andam makigtambayayong sa mga airline companies sa data sharing ug lokal nga suporta alang sa route evaluation, matud pa ni Almario.
