FAMILY WEEK CELEBRATIONS HIGHLIGHTS

October 04, 2025, Family Week Celebration || In celebration of the 33rd year of National Family Week with the Theme "Family - Oriented Policies Towards a Stronger, More Prosperous, and Secure Filipino Family".

The Marinduque District of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints organized a program held at the Mogpog Chapel in Mogpog Town. Part of this celebration was the parade played by the band which is LGU group band of Mogpog with Hon. Mayor Senen "Jojo" Livelo Jr. of the Town of Mogpog who was also the Guest Speaker on the day of this celebration, Video Presentation from selected members of the Church regarding the importance of family and the importance of conducting Family History in their lives.
Next was the speech or message of Hon. Mayor Senen " Jojo" Livelo Jr. who brought joy and smiles to the investigators and members of the Church who attended this celebration. He first conveyed to the members the greetings from those on behalf of the Sanggunian Bayan led by Vice Mayor Augusto Leo Livelo and the Sanggunian Members and the Staff of the Town Government of Mogpog and their families, "A Happy Family Day".
He also conveyed his heartfelt greetings and gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sta. Cruz Marinduque District for the invitation and for their tireless cooperation to promote the spirit of unity, faith and love in every Filipino family. He mentioned that everyone knows that the Family is made up of Father, Mother, Children, Grandparents, a Happy Family and Every Member of the Family Should Be United. The Father is the pillar of the home and justice. He is the one who will be obeyed, in the law made in his home. The Mother is the light of the home and misericordia or merciful. The mercy and love, care are always given by the mother to her children.
He asked a question, "What is the difference between a House and a Home?”. He said, "The difference between a house and a home is just, A house is a Structure and The Home is A Place Where the Family Lives Harmoniously." He emphasized that we are all witnesses, that the family is the smallest unit of society but here, everything is shaped. Here, everything begins or begins to be done towards a ladder that must be walked. And if there’s unity, love, and faith within the family, our country will certainly be more orderly, peaceful, prosperous, besides that it will be healthy in all aspects of life, our country will be healthy.
With the theme of Family-Friendly Policies towards a more stable, comfortable and secure Filipino family, this theme is a reminder that the government, the Church and the entire community must unite in promoting Policies based on the needs and welfare of the family. Everything must be aligned; the policy must be in accordance with the beauty of our family. This is a result of a family with good discipline in its home. "In the family, learn to enjoy life."
Lastly, he said and reminds everyone that this may serve as a reminder to all. " A Strong Family is the True Key to a Happy Nation, a Prosperous Nation, a Peaceful Nation, a Healthy Nation. So, let's work together to promote our province and our town, prioritizing the well-being of every family.

On June 22, 2025 Sta. Cruz Marinduque Philippines District Conference was held in Mogpog Chapel at Sumangga, Mogpog. Marinduque. It was attended by the members, investigators, missionaries and leaders of the 5 branches of the Sta Cruz Marinduque District namely Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Sta. Cruz, and Torrijos Branch. It was also attended by the members of the San Pablo Mission Presidency; President Jonathan Scholl as the Mission President together with his wife Sister Karen Scholl and President Oscar Balgos as First Counselor with his wife Sister Lorena Balgos.
The highlights of this District Conference were the releasing and sustaining of new calls to the District Presidency of the Marinduque District as well as the giving of thanks to the former leaders of the Marinduque District of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, namely President Jay Sena Sotto former District President, Pres. Michael Estarez 2nd Counselor, Pres. Eugene Rozal 1st Counselor. The newly called to the leadership were President Noel Macdon District President, President Nilo Madriaga 2nd Counselor and President Crisencio Marciano 1st Counselor. Each of them including their wives were given the opportunity to share their thanks and testimonies. They all extend their heartfelt gratitude to the members for sustaining them and having them support to their callings. Also asked for the members love and unity to help the District become a Stake. President Macdon, the newly called District President of Marinduque District and his wife give emphasis on the Ministering and Linking Arms of the members, leaders, and missionaries to rescue those in need, as well as the Area Priorities which is to Come Unto Christ, Make and Keep Temple Covenants, and Strengthen the Rising Generation. And lastly, President Scholl San Pablo Mission President, encouraged members to look for those that are lost and to act on faith that we have.
