REASON WHY SOME FOOD VLOGGERS DIDN'T MAKE IT?
1. They did not show their face, only the food.
• Why this matters:
Audiences connect with people, not just dishes. Vloggers who hide behind the camera miss the opportunity to build trust and relatability with their viewers. Without showing their personality, reactions, or expressions, the content often feels impersonal, robotic, or disconnected. Top food vloggers become successful partly because viewers feel like they know them, not just what they cook.
2. They included gambling or betting advertisements in their videos.
• Why this matters:
Promoting gambling in food content is irresponsible and distracts from the vlog’s core purpose. It can also expose viewers, especially young or vulnerable audiences, to harmful behavior. This kind of content damages the vlogger’s credibility, and brands or serious followers are less likely to support creators who prioritize profit over integrity. Top vloggers maintain clean and focused content, earning lasting respect.
3. They promoted excessive eating or food waste.
• Why this matters:
Creating videos that revolve around gluttony or eating beyond reasonable limits sets a poor example. It may entertain some, but it also encourages unhealthy behavior and shows a lack of respect for food, especially in cultures where food security is an issue. Responsible vloggers practice moderation, share food with others, or highlight sustainable consumption. Those who waste food for views are often criticized and not celebrated.
4. They constantly featured unhealthy, oily, or overly processed food.
• Why this matters:
While occasional indulgence is fine, repeatedly showcasing greasy, deep-fried, or nutritionally poor food can influence viewers’ eating habits in negative ways. Top food vloggers aim to inspire a balanced lifestyle. Those who consistently promote unhealthy meals without variety or awareness fall short of setting a good example, and often lose credibility in the long run.
5. Despite Their Popularity, They Were Disqualified for Living Abroad
Some food vloggers, though very popular in the Philippines, were not eligible for inclusion because they currently reside in other countries. According to the official rules, only those living and actively vlogging from within the Philippines could be considered for the Top 50 list.
WHO ARE INCLUDED?
1. Cook and Share Recipes
Food vloggers often prepare dishes on camera, offering step-by-step guides that viewers can easily follow. Their recipes can range from simple street food favorites to gourmet meals that showcase advanced culinary skills.
2. Review Restaurants or Street Food
They visit various food establishments, such as local carinderias, trendy cafes, or high-end restaurants, to give honest reviews. These reviews usually cover taste, presentation, price, ambiance, and overall dining experience.
3. Explore Food Culture
Many food vloggers highlight the rich and diverse food traditions of different regions. They feature unique local dishes, indigenous ingredients, and traditional cooking methods that reflect the culinary identity of a place.
4. Share Food Hacks or Tips
To make cooking more accessible, food vloggers also share practical kitchen tips, budget-friendly recipes, and viral food trends.
THE VOTING
Out of a total of 512 food vloggers across the country, the Philippines Vlogger Circle carefully selected only 50 finalists to be considered for judging. These 50 were chosen based on their content quality, originality, audience impact, and adherence to responsible food vlogging standards.
The final ranking was determined by a panel of 20 judges, composed of industry professionals, culinary experts, media personalities, and seasoned content creators. Each judge evaluated the shortlisted vloggers using a comprehensive scoring system that considered the following:
• Authenticity and personality on camera
• Culinary knowledge and creativity
• Respectful and ethical food content
• Audience engagement and influence
• Production quality and consistency
After thorough review and deliberation, the combined scores from all 20 judges led to the official ranking of the Top Food Vloggers in the Philippines for the year.
This process ensures that the recognition goes not just to the most popular, but to those who truly uphold the values of excellence, integrity, and responsibility in food vlogging.
