A newborn baby girl is now safe after being rescued by alert police officers in Las Piñas City.
At around 6:30 PM on October 4, 2025, Police Corporals Camayang and Santos, together with Patrolman Alvaro from Daniel Fajardo Sub-Station, under the leadership of PCOL Sandro Jay DC Tafalla, Chief of Police, found the infant inside a red eco bag left in front of their station at Barangay Fajardo. Without hesitation, the officers called for medical assistance and rushed the baby to Las Piñas District Hospital for immediate care. The child is now under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Acting Chief PNP, Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the officers’ swift action, saying,
“This goes beyond enforcing the law it is about compassion and duty to protect every life. Their response mirrors our commitment to the President’s vision of a police service that truly cares for the people.”
This act of compassion reflects the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat at nararamdaman” a police force that serves swiftly, sincerely, and with genuine concern for the public.
SPD, District Director PBGEN Randy Ygay Arceo, lauded the responding officers for their humane and timely intervention, stating,
“This selfless act defines what true service means. Let this inspire every SPD personnel to always serve with heart and readiness in all circumstances.”
