𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆

The annual Peñafrancia Fluvial Procession proceeded along the Naga River on Saturday, September 19, despite being delayed due to the river’s low water level.

Devotees gathered along the riverbanks to witness the Traslación of the images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Divino Rostro as part of the Peñafrancia Festival 2026.

The event marked the return of the Divino Rostro and Our Lady of Peñafrancia to the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, concluding the weeklong religious activities of the festival.

𝟳𝟯 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆

The 16th Bicol Regional Military Parade drew 73 entries to Plaza Quezon, Naga City, on September 18, 2026, as part of the Peñafrancia Festival, marking an increase from the 57 entries recorded last year.

According to the Local Government Unit of Naga, 71 entries competed, while two participated as special groups.

The combined Mariners' Canaman and Mariners' Naga contingents opened the parade with their band and majorette performance as special participants.

The contingents proceeded according to the planned parade order, with city officials, PNP es**rts, parade marshals, joint task forces, and uniformed military contingents present during the event.

For local devotee Jaspher Sedrick Clutario, the annual parade has become part of his Peñafrancia memories and a tradition associated with the festival.

“Almost symbol na siya ng Peñafrancia, parang di mo na matatawag na Peñafrancia pag mayo si Military Parade at Civic Parade,” he said.

The parade concluded in the afternoon, with preparations proceeding for the Fluvial Procession on September 19, another major activity of the Peñafrancia Festival.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗲ñ𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Devotees, students, civic leaders, and organization representatives gathered along Panganiban Drive on Sept. 17, for the annual Peñafrancia Festival Civic and Float Parade, culminating at Plaza Quezon in Naga City.

Participating groups including Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. (MPCI) began assembling along the route at 6:30 a.m., carrying banners, and displaying floats dedicated to Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

Representatives from local government units, non-government organizations, and academic institutions lined the main streets during the multi-hour procession.

The parade concluded at Plaza Quezon as the final delegations completed the route, bringing together communities through shared celebration, local identity, and devotion to Ina.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students gathered today, September 15, at the MPCI Library for the BSHM General Assembly 2026 to discuss departmental plans, programs, and concerns.

The General Assembly was led by BSHM Program Chair Ma. Rowena Balid, in collaboration with the Organization of Hospitality Management Students (OHMS).

The event also served as an avenue for students to raise questions and inquiries concerning the department, providing an opportunity for their concerns to be addressed.

𝗠𝗣𝗖𝗜, 𝟴𝟮𝟬𝗞 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻

Mariners' Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. (MPCI) joined an estimated 820,000 devotees in Naga City on September 11, 2026 to es**rt the images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and El Divino Rostro during the annual Traslacion procession.

The MPCI contingent gathered along the procession route from the Old Peñafrancia Shrine to the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral.

Overall turnout reached an estimated 820,000 devotees—surpassing the 800,000 recorded in 2025, according to official figures released by the Naga City Government through its Emergency Operations Center-Incident Management Team (EOC-IMT).

For the MPCI community, participating in the event represents a deep cultural and generational commitment.

"Beyond the religious title, it all just boils down to tradition na kumbaga it became a yearly thing na napasa na sako through generations," said Salvador Tatel, an MPCI faculty member.

Moreover, students highlighted the emotional impact and sense of unity felt during the gathering. Hillary Paige Dela Cruz, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management student, shared her experience observing the crowd each year.

"Very emotional kaya kapag nahihiling ko every fiesta na kadakol tao tapos nag kakasararo all because of Ina na para sako iyo kumbaga iyo to ang naging meaningful highlight kang Traslacion," Dela Cruz said.

Meanwhile, the traditional foot procession concluded as barefoot voyadores carried the sacred images through the streets to the cathedral.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Campus journalists, media practitioners, and communication enthusiasts from across Bicol converged at Magdalena Hall, New Crown Hotel, Naga City, on September 10 for the Bicol Press Conference (BPC) Regional Media Convention 2026.

Carrying the theme “Communicating Faith, Messengers of Hope and Unity,” the convention focused on strengthening the skills and knowledge of young communicators through discussions on journalism and responsible media practice.

The event covered key legal and ethical issues in modern reporting, focusing on the Data Privacy Act and the distinctions between libel and cyber libel in the digital age.
