Nag top 1 sa local survey si incumbent Board Member Maria 'Nini' Ravanilla ng 1st District ng Sorsogon na isinagawa nitong February 24, 2025 hanggang March 1, 2025.

Pasok din sa survey si dating City Councilor Dave Duran na nagbabalik sa pagka bokal.

Si Ravanilla ay nag top 1 sa nakaraang halalan at posibleng siya pa rin ang makakakuha ng unang pwesto kung pagbabatayan ang latest survey.

Si Ravanilla ay dating Regional Director ng Department of Tourism sa Bicol.

Si Ravanilla rin ang isa sa tumutol sa panukalang merging ng SORECO 1 at 2 na inihain sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Samantala, si Duran naman ay sumusuporta sa adhikain ng Electric Cooperatives. Matatandaan ang ama ni Duran na si dating mayor Jun Duran ay naging Board President ng SORECO 2.

JUST IN: Early campaigning hunts Sorsogon City Councilor PJ Ravanilla

A complaint was filed and received by Sorsogon City Comelec Office against incumbent City Councilor Ravanilla by Redentor Lasay, Emmanuel Diolata, Antero Ladines Jr, Ranilo Sesbreño and Felipe Janaban and another signatory, today, February 24, 2025.

But the complaint was not sworn-in and duly notarized as required.

The Comelec urged aspirants in the May 2025 Elections to take down billboard's and other early campaigning materials as it is yet start of the campaign period.

Aspirants candidates were warned that they may face disqualification if they ignore the directive. However, Comelec resolution 11086 states that all prohibited forms of election propaganda shall be immediately removed or caused to be removed by said candidates or party at least 72 hours before the start of campaign period.

Local candidates in the case of Councilor Ravanilla will be allowed to campaign from March 28 to May 10, 2025. But Republic Act 9369 states that they only considered candidates once we enter campaign period, as such there is no such thing as pre-mature campaigning.

JUST IN: 70 anyos na lola ginahasa at pinatay sa Sorsogon City. Dalawa (2) sa apat na suspek naaresto ng mga otoridad.

Tumanggi munang pangalanan ng otoridad ang dalawang (2) suspek sa panggagahasa at pagpatay sa 70 taong gulang na lola.

Matatandaan na natagpuan ang hubo't hubad na katawan ng biktima sa ibabaw ng nitso sa Sorsogon Catholic Cemetery, Barangay Almendras, Sorsogon City kahapon ng umaga, Enero 19, 2025.

Sa impormasyon, inamin ng isang suspek na isa sa kanyang kasamahan ang humanpas ng bato sa ulo ng biktima.

Ang biktima ay residente ng Barangay Balogo, Sorsogon City.

Ang pagbabayad ng SRI sa lahat ng kwalipikadong empleyado ng gobyerno ay hindi dapat mas maaga kaysa sa 15 Disyembre 2024. Ngunit ngayon ay ika-16 na ng Enero 2025 ay wala pa rin.

Ayon pa sa source, humigit kumulang 500 empleyado (permanent at casual) ng lungsod ang hindi pa nakakatanggap ng SRI.
