𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐄: Soliguen Earns 6th Place at Regional Press Event

Christian G. Soliguen has earned distinction by clinching 6th place in News Writing (Filipino) during the recently concluded Regional Capacity Building of School Paper Advisers. The event, held at Paradise Garden Resort and Convention Center, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan from April 22 to 25, 2025, gathered over 300 participants from across the region in preparation for the upcoming National Schools Press Conference.

The Regional Capacity Building serves as a vital platform for the advisers to hone the skills, share best practices, and foster camaraderie amongst their student-journalists ahead of the national competition. Participants engaged in intensive workshops, lectures, and contests designed to simulate the high standards of the National Schools Press Conference, the country’s premier event for campus journalism.

Soliguen’s achievement in the News Writing (Filipino) category reflects not only his personal dedication and journalistic talent but also the strong support system provided by his school. His performance stands out among hundreds of delegates.

The event venue, Paradise Garden Resort and Convention Center, is known for its spacious facilities and proximity to Boracay’s iconic beaches, providing an inspiring backdrop for the region’s school paper advisers to collaborate and learn. The success of this year’s capacity building is expected to contribute significantly to the region’s performance in the forthcoming National Schools Press Conference.
