DONASYONG AKLAT PARA SA MONSAY COMMUNITY LIBRARY.

Ikinalulugod po ng Kapatiran ng mga Mamamahayag sa Pilipinas at PCQC Professional Sector na pinamumunuan ni Sector Representative Rjhay E. Laurea na maging daan para maiparating sa Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, QC ang mga aklat na mula sa QC LGU sa pamamagitan ng QC Public Library. Maraming salamat Mayor Joy Belmonte at sa buong QCPL sa pagtugon sa aming request. Salamat din kay Rotary Club of Pearl of the Orient President Lilibeth Camposano na tumulong sa pag-transport ng mga aklat mula sa QCPL patungo sa SK Office ng Barangay Ramon Magsaysay.

5 QC SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES DECLARE SUPPORT TO CHAMBA FITNESS DANCE

The Kapatiran ng Mamamahayag sa Pilipinas, 4Ks Solo Parents Federation of Quezon City, Barangay Culiat Solo Parents, District 6 WE Pride Council Federation, and E-Merge United Zumba Ladies of Escopa 3, all part of the QC Council of Sectoral Representatives - City Development Council, as representatives of the professional, solo parents, LGBT, and health sectors respectively, are now activity partners of Kalinangan TV and Kiwanis Club of QC Legends who were the main organizers of the upcoming “Chamba: Sayawit sa Linggo ng Wika”.

“Chamba: Sayawit sa Linggo ng Wika” is the revised “Chamba Independence Day: Sayawit Para sa Kalayaan” - a project in cooperation with the City Government which was postponed due to inclement weather. The rescheduled event will now be on August 12, 2023, Saturday, from 8:00am-6:00pm in Quezon Memorial Circle Covered Court, with the same purpose, beneficiaries, and services to be offered.

Chamba is a Filipino fitness dance created by well-known dance guru Mel Feliciano and it is a combination of Chacha, modern dance and Samba. It is a fitness dance which is slower and milder compared to the popular Zumba that originated in Latin America.

“Chamba: Sayawit sa Linggo ng Wika'' also aims to deliver free health services to Quezon City residents with its partner/sponsor Noblelife International to render free health assessment and check-up during the activity.

The company will also distribute free detoxifiers and healthy coffee. Raffle prizes will also be given and aside from Chamba Fitness Dance Clinic, an On-The-Spot (OTS) Dance Contest will add spice to the program.

Another highlight of the show is the portion where singers will sing the danceable songs live while the participants dance on the beat.

“This is a one-of-a-kind experience for all the QCitizens. Beside the health services it offers, it also promotes the culture of bayanihan where well-off people and philanthropists can sponsor the less fortunate ones so they will be able to join the activity,” Professional Sector Representative Rjhay E. Laurea said.

Laurea explained that the event supposedly has a registration fee but QCitizens can participate in the event for free if a benefactor will sponsor a slot for them. Those who want to avail of sponsored slots may register via online through a Google Form that Kalinangan TV posted in their page.

“We invite all the QCitizens to participate in this event. And we also would like to thank the Quezon City Government headed by Mayor Joy Belmonte and the Quezon Memorial Circle Administration under the supervision of Mr. Windsor Bueno for fully supporting our program which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among QC residents.” # # #

Statement of Mayor Joy Belmonte Regarding the Shooting incident involving a member of the Media.

On behalf of the entire Quezon City Local Government Unit, the Quezon City Police Department, and all peace-loving QCitizens, I would like to express my outrage and condemnation of the shooting incident that happened today in Barangay Masambong.

Although we are greatly relieved that the victim, photo-journalist Joshua Abad, has now been declared out of danger, this has not diminished our determination to bring his cowardly attackers to justice.

Wala pong lugar ang karahasan at pananakot sa Quezon City, maging sa mga miyembro ng media o kahit sino pa man. Titiyakin po namin na mananagot ang mga salarin ng krimeng ito.

A full investigation is currently underway, and we are confident that more details will soon lead to rightful arrests.
