Reaffirming its dedication to continual quality enhancement, the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) officially commenced the three-day Accreditation Online Survey conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) for seven undergraduate programs.
Under review are the following:
โข Level IV Phase I โ BSBA Business Economics, BSBA Human Resource Management, and BSBA Marketing Management
โข Level III Phase I โ BS Agribusiness, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and BS Entrepreneurship
โข Level III Phase II โ BS Industrial Technology at UEPโPedro Rebadulla Memorial Campus
University officials, academic deans, faculty members, program task forces, and the AACCUP accreditors attended the opening activity. The team of accreditors is composed of: Dr. Reynaldo T. Gelido (Lead Accreditor), Dr. Sisenando C. Masangcap Jr., Dr. Agnes D. Arellano, Prof. Victoria P. Besana, Dr. Elmer C. Vingua, and Dr. Noel S. Quidato.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ronato S. Ballado welcomed the evaluators and formally opened the program, emphasizing accreditation as an essential mechanism to ensure that UEPโs academic offerings remain relevant, competitive, and responsive to national development goals. Director for Instruction Celeste J. Chan presented the rationale of the survey visit, underscoring the universityโs continuous pursuit of academic excellence.
Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Roque I. Irader introduced the key university officials, followed by the deansโ presentations of their respective accreditation task forces: Atty. Emily S. Acompaรฑado (CBA), Dr. Leovegildo B. Mante Jr. (CAFNR), Dr. Mila Gracia E. Villanueva (CVM), and Dr. Rico D. De Asis (UEP-PRMC). Lead Accreditor Dr. Gelido then delivered the statement of purpose and an overview of the survey processes.
Dr. Maria Alfe G. Banawis, Assistant Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, officially introduced the full roster of AACCUP accreditors and expressed gratitude for their commitment to support UEPโs quality assurance journey.
A message of support from University President Dr. Cherry I. Ultra, delivered by Vice President for Administration and Finance Atty. Regine Ann A. Garcelazo, highlighted UEPโs collective readiness for the accreditation activities. Dr. Ultra expressed confidence that the programs under evaluation will achieve favorable outcomes, recognizing the concerted efforts of administrators, faculty, and staff in strengthening academic standards.
The opening program concluded with breakout room sessions for each program and a virtual campus tour showcasing UEPโs facilities, learning environment, and student support services.
Through this accreditation endeavor, UEP continues to uphold its mandate as a leading institution in Eastern Visayas, committed to producing competent graduates and maintaining a culture of quality and excellence.
