We praise God for the 76th Anniversary of FEBC’s Chinese Broadcast!
On September 6, the celebration was held at Jubilee Evangelical Church, Quezon City. The gathering brought together Filipino-Chinese partners and church leaders to celebrate and reaffirm our shared calling in the Great Commission.
In his message, Board Chairman and President James Tioco emphasized the God of multiplication from Matthew 14:13–21, urging believers to “make disciples who will make other disciples.” He also shared how FEBC’s Liangyou Theological Seminary and digital platforms continue to bring God’s Word to China and beyond.
"Ang masama ay kinasusuklaman ng mga matuwid;
ang masasama nama'y sa matuwid nagagalit."

Pray for the Philippines! 🙏
A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Cebu Tuesday night, leaving at least 26 dead and 147 injured, with heavy damage in Bogo City and nearby towns. Relief operations are ongoing as San Remigio declares a state of calamity. Please pray for God’s comfort and provision for affected families, strength for responders, and protection for our team in Cebu as UP987 DYFR-FM continues to broadcast hope in Christ.
Taal Volcano also erupted briefly early Wednesday, though Alert Level 1 remains. PHIVOLCS clarified that this activity is unrelated to the earthquake in Cebu. Authorities warned of possible sudden explosions and toxic gas emissions.
PAGASA forecasts scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Aurora, and Quezon. A low-pressure area east of Luzon, which may develop into Tropical Depression Paolo, is being monitored but has no direct effect yet.
Pray for God’s mercy over the nation, that He may grant protection, strength, and hope to all affected communities, and guide the country through these trials with His peace.
In Masbate, Typhoon Opong left nine people dead, thousands of homes damaged, and schools and roads heavily affected. Power and water supply may take up to a month to restore, while classes are suspended for a week.
Meanwhile, heavy rains on Monday caused waist-deep flooding in parts of Metro Manila. PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Bicol, and nearby provinces, warning of possible flash floods and landslides.
Pray for God’s comfort for those who lost loved ones, provision for families struggling with damaged homes and basic needs, and protection for communities still facing rains and floods.

The ministry of FEBC Radio grew out of the heart of FEBC founders, two friends – Dr. Robert Bowman and Mr. Jim Broger – who responded to God’s call for missions in the Far East.
In the 1940s, when Dr. Bowman and Mr. Broger began to establish Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), they were looking to reach millions in China. The two men from the US pooled their resources together, hoping to set up a radio station there. However, the doors closed, leading them to the Philippines.
On July 6, 1946, John Broger secured a franchise for FEBC, and within a few weeks, found a suitable site in Karuhatan, Valenzuela. Not long after, on August 26, 1946, the Philippine Congress granted FEBC a franchise to operate radio broadcast facilities under a Filipino corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In His own time and through countless miraculous ways, God provided for all the other needs of this radio ministry—land, antenna, transmitter and manpower.
And on June 4, 1948, the song “All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus’ Name” echoed through the airwaves, signalling the start of Gospel broadcasting in the country. Since then, the ministry of FEBC has steadily made an impact in the lives of countless people all over the world, especially in areas where there is religious persecution, political strife and economic hardship. In China, for instance, half of the 70 million Christians had first heard the Gospel through broadcasts from FEBC’s “Voice of Friendship.”
At present, FEBC manages twelve AM and FM stations strategically located in key cities all over the Philippines. It also reaches those living or working abroad through the livestreaming online. Programs reach listeners in China and Southeast Asia through shortwave broadcast facilities in Bocaue, Bulacan and Iba, Zambales.
In 2013, the FEBC headquarters (Christian Radio City Manila) were moved to the Ortigas business district, in the heart of Manila.
FEBC Philippines is part of an international broadcast network that proclaims the Gospel in around 150 languages, approximately 5,000 hours each week utilizing on-air, online and on-the-ground channels. It relies solely upon God’s faithfulness and provisions. He continues to touch people’s hearts and move them to pray and give generously. Being a non-profit, non-commercial radio network and without any pressures from advertisers, FEBC has managed to keep its message pure, and that is—We are all sinners and Christ who loved us gave His life to redeem us from the punishment of sin. We can have life in Christ if we believe and trust in Him.
