In a world that’s always rushing, where motorcycles have become the first choice for getting around, let’s not forget the humble "sikad". It may be slower, but it carries the quiet strength of hard work and the hope of someone earning an honest living.

Most sikad drivers are elderly — still pedaling under the sun and rain just to earn a living. They don’t burn gasoline, but that doesn’t mean their effort is cheap. Behind every pedal is a father, a grandfather, someone trying to feed a family.

This is also how we teach our children, to never look down on hard work, to appreciate the hands that serve, and to grow up knowing that helping, even in small ways, matters.

So let’s ride a sikad when we can. Let’s pay them fairly. And if we have more, let’s give a little extra. It might be a short ride for us, but for them, it’s a way through life. 💛🚲

Most mornings, I’m the first to get up—before my husband and the girls. I prepare meals, pack their bags, double check uniforms, and make sure nothing is forgotten. At 7:15am, I bring Freyja to school. Then I go home to prepare F***g for her 10am class.

While F***g is inside, I stay near—either outside her room or quietly at the back, waiting. It’s a daily routine that leaves little time for rest, but this is the phase we’re in.

And still, I find myself grateful. Grateful that when they walk into school, they look clean, cared for, and complete. They don’t have to think about anything else—just learning, laughing, and enjoying their childhood.

I’m also thankful that Freyja can go home on her own, with the help of the BPAT guiding her safely across the road. It gives me peace, knowing she’s learning a little independence while still being watched over.

It’s tiring, yes. But it’s also fulfilling. Because even in these small, repeated days—I know I’m showing up for them in ways they may not see now, but someday, they’ll understand.

One sleeps without a blanket even in the cold, the other wraps herself up when she feels like it—complete opposites even in their sleep. The younger one is all smiles, talkative, full of imagination, and easily clicks with anyone. The eldest is quiet, observant, and waits before stepping in. One makes stories, the other listens. But despite all their differences in personality and preference, they share something truly special—the same birthday, the same fiery temper, and the same deep love from us, their parents. 💕
