SALVE REGINA: ADNU Community Celebrates 7th Day of Novena Mass

Members of the Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) community joined together on the seventh day of the Novena Mass, sponsored by the school. The mass was held on September 18, 2025 at the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral to honor Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

Students and faculty across the junior high, senior high, and college filled the cathedral alongside other devotees to attend the liturgy led by Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, the University President. Accompanying him were chaplains from different units of ADNU. Following the celebration of the mass was the Voyadores performance by the college students at the cathedral grounds.

The students through their display of discipline and devotion in their unwavering participation in the activities of this Peñafrancia festival all the more fuels the solemnity and our love for Ina.

TRASLACION 2025: Walking in faith and tradition

Roughly 600 Ateneo de Naga University Junior High School (AdNU JHS) students, together with the faculty, staff, and administrators, marched along the streets of Naga City in the Traslacion Procession 2025, held on September 12, 2025.

The solemn procession began at 12:00 noon at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Shrine and made its way through the streets of Naga towards the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, AdNU being the 14th delegation in the order of procession. The lay devotees, schools, and organizations journeyed with the images of Ina and the Divino Rostro.

Despite the heavy downpour, the AdNU JHS community still proceeded to march in unity with hundreds of thousands of other devotees, showing their faith and devotion while holding their banners high in one of the most significant events of the Penafrancia Festival.

An Maogmang Lugar, the school's literary publication, has kicked off this school year with an engaging lecture-workshop led by guest speaker Mr. Jay Salvosa, who introduced the essentials of writing literature. Held at the ADNU JHS Library on August 2, 2025, the session has not only laid a strong foundation in the basics of writing but also sparked newfound confidence and knowledge among the members.

What's a smart approach to saying it? 😆 The members of An Maogmang Lugar has just taken the next step in their long journey with the organization. With these programs, hopefully the bond between the members continue to grow stronger, in accordance with their ever expanding knowledge.

From here on out, again, may they continue to Inhale & Excel! ✨

The first Paarent-Teacher Conference (PTC) for the school year 2025-2026 was held on July 20 in the Bonoan campus, gathering the parents and guardians of students to discuss various concerns, important details, and presentation of faculty and staff to support the Ateneans’ journey this academic year.

A mass was held at the Xavier chapel to put the attendees in good spirits and commence the PTC. Principal Dr. Guia L. Olin introduced this year's faculty and staff, presented the facilities on campus, discussed important dates and student requirements for promotion in the Covered Courts.

The PTC concluded with the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) President, Mr. Joel Antonio’s discussion about last year’s accomplishments. Immediately followed by the PTA Treasurer, Ms. Emilyn Beldad’s report of the PTA fund and how the school fund was utilized.

With this, it helped the school receive concerns and suggestions from the students' guardians to help enhance their journey for success.

Shortly after the conference, parents were directed to their children's respective classrooms to continue the discussion regarding various concerns including the election of Homeroom officers and guidelines for student safety.

𝗔𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗼𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 welcomes its new creatives! 📝

𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱! 🍀📣 After a long week of getting to know eager applicants, An Maogmang Lugar warmly welcomes its new members with its first General Assembly. Senior members gleefully welcomed the greenhorns and treated them with a few tokens of appreciation and a simple introduction to formally start their journey in the organization.

The An Maogmang Lugar (AML), “The Happy Place”, is the literary and artistic folio of the Ateneo de Naga University that had its Maiden Issue in 1963 which tries to capture the “laughter that abounds in our Ateneo campus.” Through the vision of Fr. James O’Brien, the organization was founded as an avenue for students to read, learn, and create literature in English, Filipino, but most especially in Bikol hence the name, An Maogmang Lugar.

As one of the oldest organizations in the Ateneo de Naga Junior High School, An Maogmang Lugar has been witness to many stories, laughters, and dreams of students throughout the years. To many Ateneans, An Maogmang Lugar has always been a happy memory and a cherished space. And now, hopeful and bright new members will now be part of this community and history.

The new members began their journey today but their next step in the long journey ahead of them still awaits. But until then, perhaps they can breathe, to Inhale and Excel, and admire their tokens of their membership. 🎁⭐

𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧: 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 & 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐔𝐩

Nearly 50 aspiring campus journalists participated in the two-stage screening for Blue & Gold, the official student publication of Ateneo de Naga University Junior High School.

The screening was held in two batches. The first batch completed the diagnostic test on July 2, followed by the field test on July 3. The second batch underwent the same process on July 10 and 11, respectively.

The official list of qualifiers will be posted next week.

After classes on June 25, members of Blue & Gold, in collaboration with Ang Maogmang Lugar (AML), gathered in the school library to arrange and organize the newly printed magazines and booklets. The activity served as the final preparation for the release and distribution of the publication to the student body.

The release of the magazine and booklet marked a significant moment for both organizations. For many members, this was the result of their creative efforts and literary expression. These student journalists together with their moderators, Ma’am Jedidah Palero as the Blue and Gold (B&G) moderator and Sir Ymanuel Manaog as the Maogmang Lugar (AML) moderator demonstrated Magis reflecting their commitment to student journalism.

The magazines and booklets were successfully released on June 26, providing readers with a collection of features, news, photos, literary pieces, and creative works produced by club members. The project highlights the ongoing efforts of school publications to give students a voice and a platform to express their ideas, perspectives, and stories.
