Back in 2006, Eiichiro Oda revealed that as One Piece continued serialization, he occasionally forgot some of Luffy’s techniques and checked fan-made websites for reference. He even mentioned how helpful those fan sites were. It’s a rare and wholesome reminder that even the creator of One Piece sometimes relies on the passion and dedication of his own fandom.
