If your heart is uneasy before the altar, listen.
If communication is breaking, repair it before it becomes silence.
If trust is fading, fight for it or be brave enough to walk away.

Real love protects, not deceives.
Choose each other daily, not just when it's convenient, but especially when it's hard.

Because forever should never be built on lies.
Choose wisely. Love deeply. Walk bravely.

The Quiet Choice

Dana had always believed in going with the flow. At school, she joined clubs her friends chose. When it was time to pick subjects, she let his parents decide. Even her favorite food was what his boyfriend liked best. It was easier that way—less conflict, less thinking.

Then one day, the letters came. University acceptance offers three envelopes, three different paths. Law, medicine, and art school. She stared at them, waiting for someone to tell her which to pick. But this time, no one did.

She hesitated. Days passed. Then a friend jokingly said, “Just go where the money is. Law school, obviously.” Her mother chimed in, “Medicine. It's secure.” And her boyfriend shrugged, “Art's not practical anyway.”

So Dana signed the form for law school.

Years later, in a polished office surrounded by contracts and cold coffee, Dana glanced at a sketchbook hidden in her drawer. Dusty. Unused. The pages still blank. She wondered what might have filled them what colors, what stories, what joy.

And she finally understood:
If you cannot decide for yourself, others will.
And sometimes, what they choose… isn’t who you are.

A Call to Empower Your Children

As parents, it's natural to want the best for your children—to protect them, guide them, and ensure they make the right choices. But sometimes, in trying to give them everything, we forget to give them the most important gift: freedom.

Your child is not a reflection to be polished, but a person to be trusted. They should not grow up feeling like they are constantly walking on eggshells, afraid to disappoint you, or hesitant to speak their mind. When approval becomes a condition for love, fear takes root where confidence should grow.

Let them decide. Let them stumble. Let them rise. Give them the space to explore who they are without the weight of constant judgment. They are not meant to fulfill your unfulfilled dreams they are meant to chase their own.

So, loosen the grip. Listen more. Trust deeper. Because a child who feels safe to be themselves will someday thank you not for the rules you enforced but for the freedom you allowed.

Empower them now, so they won’t have to heal from your silence later.
