As HABI 2026 prepares to weave together knowledge, truth and journalistic excellence, we proudly introduce another distinguished expert who will help sharpen the editorial skills of our young journalists and advisers.

A seasoned English language educator, our next speaker is widely recognized for her expertise in language teaching, instructional development, scholarly writing, and editorial excellence.

Her professional specialization includes pedagogical innovation, translanguaging, language assessment, and the development of contextualized learning resources aligned with national standards.
She is highly regarded in the field of campus journalism, particularly in copy editing and proofreading, where her keen eye for detail and mastery of English mechanics have made her a trusted evaluator, mentor, and trainer of student writers and journalism practitioners. Over the years, she has served as one of the respected judges in the DepEd Quezon Division Schools Press Conference.

She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in English from Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, completed her Master of Arts in Teaching English at Southern Luzon State University, and obtained her Diploma in Campus Journalism from Philippine Normal University.

A recognized leader in the teaching profession, she has served as a trainer at the national, regional, and divisional levels and contributed as a writer of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) resource packages.

Her research presentations in local and international conferences further reflect her commitment to advancing English language education, campus journalism training, and editorial leadership.

Her excellence and dedication have earned her numerous accolades, including recognitions for Outstanding Master Teacher and Excellence in Campus Journalism Leadership.

Ready to score big in SPORTS WRITING?

For our next speaker we are bringing in someone whose passion for sports journalism goes beyond writing stories—it’s about building future champions in the field. Our featured speaker is a sports writer, editor, mentor, and youth advocate who has continuously guided aspiring sports journalists through trainings, workshops, mentoring sessions, and journalism activities both online and face-to-face.

He currently serves as the Head Administrator for Membership of SWEEP (Sports Writing Elite Enthusiasts of the Philippines) a learning community that helps aspiring sports journalists enhance their skills in sports writing, game coverage, and journalism while preparing them for competitions and real-world reporting.

He is also the author of a sports writing e-module “Secrets of Winners: An Easy Guide to Master Sports Writing,” a learning material designed to help young writers sharpen their craft and master the fundamentals of sports journalism.

His journalism journey includes serving as:
- Sports Editor of Informed Philippines
- Sports Writer at Inside PH
- Contributor for Dugout Philippines

He also previously served as the Sports Editor of The Harrow, the official student publication of Romblon State University Main Campus, and as the former Editor-in-Chief of The Wisdom.

Beyond journalism, he is also a Team Leader of Hope In A Box (HIAB) Batangas City, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and communities in need through outreach programs and meaningful acts of service.

Our next speaker will be handling Editorial Writing and Column Writing, two of the most challenging yet powerful categories in campus journalism where strong voice, analysis, and conviction are essential.

What makes this mentor truly exceptional is his consistent record in guiding student journalists to success at the highest level of competition. For several years, different student representatives from CALABARZON have advanced to the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) under his training, showing the strength and consistency of his coaching legacy.

His achievements as a coach include:

With 8 appearances at the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC), excellence is not just a goal—it’s a habit.

Recently hailed as a Finalist for Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser (MOSPA) in Region IV-A CALABARZON, representing SDO Quezon Province.

A master of Science and Technology Writing, he coached Ronalyn Portes, RSPC 2023 Champion and NSPC Qualifier in Cagayan de Oro City.

HABI is more than just a series of trainings and skill-building sessions. It is also a meaningful gathering of campus journalists and school paper advisers from various schools across Municipality of Pagbilao Quezon.

Participants can look forward not only to workshops and opportunities to showcase their talents in journalism, but also to meeting fellow students and advisers who share the same passion for writing, cartooning, photojournalism and broadcasting. It’s a chance to connect with other school publications, exchange ideas, and learn from different experiences and perspectives.

At its heart, HABI is about building a community of young journalists who support and inspire one another. We’re excited to see everyone coming together this HABI 2026.

Our next speaker is a dedicated educator and campus journalism mentor who has contributed to the development of student journalists in Quezon Province.

He is a former School Paper Adviser of The Coconut and Ang Niyog, the official publications of Quezon National High School—recognized as one of the most competitive and consistently winning school papers in the country, particularly in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC).

With his experience, he has trained campus journalists, served as a Division Trainer in DepEd Quezon for TV Broadcasting, Radio Broadcasting, and Feature Writing, coached a National Qualifier in Feature Writing during NSPC 2018 in Dumaguete City and became one of the co-advisers of the QNHS Debate Society and Public Speakers.

Currently, he is a Secondary School Teacher III at Quezon High, continuously guiding learners in communication, critical thinking, and writing. His passion for storytelling continues to inspire aspiring writers and campus journalists.

As part of our training and workshop, both campus journalists and school paper advisers will get to showcase their skills through real outputs after every training session.

Each output will be reviewed by our speakers, and outstanding works will be recognized per category.

This is where ideas from the training sessions take shape through writing, broadcasting, layouting, and other pieces that reflect what we’ve learned along the way.

Get ready to meet a true powerhouse in campus journalism. Someone who has consistently raised the bar from the division level all the way to the national stage.

We are proud to introduce our second speaker, a national-caliber campus journalist and one of the most remarkable young storytellers of his generation.

He is a five-time NSPC qualifier, demonstrating remarkable consistency and excellence in campus journalism. Out of these national appearances, he has earned major distinctions, becoming the NSPC Champion in News Writing in 2019 and most recently placing 4th in the NSPC 2026.

His excellence extends beyond competitions. In 2020, he was recognized as the Most Outstanding Campus Journalist (MOCJ) in Region IV-A CALABARZON, a testament to his skill, discipline, and commitment to journalistic excellence.

Before his recent graduation, he also served as the Editor-in-Chief of The CALABARZON Scholar of Philippine Science High School CALABARZON Region Campus, RRSPC 2026 Best School Paper in Secondary English.

From consistent NSPC qualifications to top national placements, from writer to newsroom leader—he has become one of the standout figures of campus journalism in CALABARZON.
