Instead of doing Rally and any political propaganda why not act for the real and long term solutions.
Flooding Cannot Be Solved by Flood Control Projects Alone.
Phenomenal disasters cannot be solved simply by building more flood control projects. We need to identify the root causes of flooding and consider the many factors that contribute to it.
Flooding is a complex problem:
- Heavy and prolonged rainfall
-Climate change,
-Deforestation
-Loss of wetlands,
-Poor drainage systems
-Rapid urbanization
-Land subsidence
-Cclogged waterways
-Improper waste disposal, and
-Development in flood-prone areas can all contribute to the severity of floods.
This is not unique to one country. Cities and communities around the world experience devastating floods despite having multiple flood control projects. Dams, dikes, drainage systems, pumping stations, floodways, and other infrastructure can reduce risk—but they cannot completely eliminate flooding, especially when rainfall becomes extreme or natural water systems are severely altered.
The real solution requires a comprehensive approach:
-🌳 Protect and restore forests and watersheds
-🌿 Preserve wetlands and natural waterways
-🏙️ Improve urban planning and drainage systems
-🌧️ Strengthen early-warning and disaster-response systems
-🌊 Restore rivers and natural floodplains where possible
-🏗️ Build infrastructure based on scientific flood-risk assessments
-🌍 Address climate change and its increasing risks.
Flood control is part of the solution—not the entire solution.
Instead of asking only, “How much money should we spend on flood control?”
We should also ask:
“Why is the flooding getting worse, and what are the underlying causes?”
