📍 Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
⏰ Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 local time (On-call required; future shift work possible)
💰 Salary Range: USD 1,000 – 2,500 per month
📅 Contract Duration: 1 year
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Engineer to maintain and support our production systems. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and resolve issues through code tracing, log analysis, and database queries. You’ll play a key role in ensuring system stability and reliability, working closely with cross-functional teams and joining an on-call support rotation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support Java backend systems and API services.
Perform daily troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve system issues.
Participate in on-call rotations for production support.
Communicate issues clearly and document technical solutions.
Manage configurations and deploy updates or patches when required.
Qualifications
✅ Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot, Spring MVC).
✅ Proficient with relational databases and able to write/debug SQL queries.
✅ Solid understanding of Linux command-line tools.
✅ Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis.
✅ Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
✅ Proficiency in English (Chinese is a plus).
Nice to Have
⭐ Strong ownership and accountability.
⭐ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
⭐ Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools.
⭐ Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
