PANIQUI, TARLAC — The Municipal Government of Paniqui continues to expand its social protection programs for senior citizens as 168 new social pensioners were added to the municipality’s growing list of beneficiaries through the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).

Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas attended the distribution of the 2nd and 3rd Social Pension, highlighting the local government’s continuing commitment to provide assistance to senior citizens and strengthen programs intended to support their welfare.

The additional beneficiaries were identified through CBMS, which serves as a mechanism for identifying qualified residents and helping ensure that government assistance reaches those who need it.

During the activity, Mayor Kat Roxas reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to gradually expand the social pension program. She said the municipality will continue adding new social pensioners every year until all qualified senior citizens in Paniqui are covered.

PANIQUI, Tarlac — The Municipality of Paniqui has allocated an additional ₱1,000,000 for its Replication Social Pension (Local Pension) Program, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to expanding assistance for senior citizens.

The additional funding was initiated by Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas and approved with the support of the Sangguniang Bayan ng Paniqui. The allocation is expected to increase the number of qualified beneficiaries under the municipality’s local pension program.

Government work, classes suspended in Paniqui as Malacañang issues MC No. 122

PANIQUI, Tarlac — Work in all government offices and classes at all levels in both public and private schools in Paniqui are suspended on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, following the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 122 by the Office of the President amid the continuing heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm MAYMAY and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The nationwide directive covers Tarlac and several other provinces affected by persistent rainfall and flooding. The suspension aims to ensure public safety as inclement weather continues to threaten parts of Luzon.

Under the memorandum, government agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital public services shall continue their operations to ensure uninterrupted assistance to the public.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and monitor official advisories from PAGASA, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and the Local Government Unit of Paniqui as weather conditions remain unstable.

Mayor Roxas Leads Monthly Review of LGU Accomplishments, Ongoing Projects

PANIQUI, Tarlac — Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas convened all department heads of the Local Government Unit of Paniqui for the Monthly Accomplishment Reports Meeting, where officials presented their respective accomplishments and provided updates on the implementation of ongoing government programs and priority projects.

During the meeting, department heads reported on the progress of their offices, highlighting completed activities, current initiatives, and operational concerns requiring immediate attention. Updates were also presented on infrastructure projects, social services, health, education, disaster preparedness, environmental management, and other key development programs being undertaken by the municipal government.

Mayor Roxas emphasized the importance of accountability, coordination, and regular performance assessment to ensure that government services are delivered efficiently and that projects are implemented on schedule and in accordance with established standards.

PANIQUI, Tarlac — Isa na namang mahalagang hakbang ang naisakatuparan para sa pagpapalakas ng imprastraktura sa edukasyon matapos ang pormal na turnover ng blueprint para sa itatayong tatlong palapag na gusaling may 12 silid-aralan sa Eduardo Cojuangco National Vocational High School (ECNVHS).

Pinangunahan ang turnover ng mga kinatawan ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), kabilang sina Engr. Simon at Sir Aaron, kasama si Municipal Engineer Maybellene, Municipal Communications Officer Benz Obcena, at iba pang kinatawan ng Local Government Unit of Paniqui.

Ayon sa LGU Paniqui, ang blueprint turnover ay mahalagang yugto sa pagsisimula ng implementasyon ng proyekto na naglalayong mapalawak ang kapasidad ng paaralan at mapabuti ang kalidad ng mga pasilidad para sa mga mag-aaral at g**o.

Sa sandaling maisakatuparan ang proyekto, inaasahang magkakaroon ang ECNVHS ng mas moderno, ligtas, at mas angkop na gusali para sa pagkatuto, na makatutulong sa pagtugon sa lumalaking bilang ng mga mag-aaral at sa pagpapahusay ng kanilang karanasan sa paaralan.

Nagpahayag naman ng pasasalamat si Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas sa PAGCOR at sa lahat ng katuwang na ahensya para sa patuloy na suporta sa mga proyektong pang-edukasyon sa bayan. Binigyang-diin niya na ang pamumuhunan sa edukasyon ay pamumuhunan sa kinabukasan ng kabataang Paniqueño at ng buong komunidad.

Mayor Kat Roxas Leads PDRA Meeting as Paniqui Heightens Preparedness for TD Luis, Habagat

PANIQUI, Tarlac — The Municipal Government of Paniqui has heightened its disaster preparedness efforts after convening a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting on Monday amid the continuing threat posed by Tropical Depression Luis and the intensified southwest monsoon (Habagat).

The meeting, led by Municipal Mayor Kat Roxas, gathered key emergency response agencies, including the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), to assess the municipality's readiness and coordinate response measures should weather conditions worsen.

Officials reviewed the latest weather updates from PAGASA, identified flood-prone and high-risk areas, and evaluated the readiness of rescue personnel, evacuation centers, emergency equipment, and relief resources. The discussions also focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination to ensure a swift and organized response to possible emergencies.

Mayor Roxas emphasized the importance of proactive planning and public cooperation in minimizing the effects of severe weather.

PANIQUI, Tarlac — Tarlac remains under Weather Advisory No. 4 as the combined effects of Tropical Depression Luis and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) are expected to bring days of heavy rainfall across the province, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5 p.m. advisory issued on Sunday, PAGASA forecast 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall over Tarlac from August 2 to 3, with another 50 to 100 millimeters expected from August 3 to 4 due to Tropical Depression Luis.

The weather bureau also warned that the effects of the Southwest Monsoon are likely to persist, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall (50–100 mm) over Tarlac from August 4 to 5.

PAGASA noted that rainfall could be higher in mountainous and elevated areas and cautioned that communities already affected by previous rains may face an increased risk of flooding and rain-induced landslides.

The agency advised local disaster risk reduction and management offices to continue taking necessary measures to protect lives and property while closely monitoring developments. Residents are likewise encouraged to stay updated through official PAGASA advisories and heed instructions from local authorities, especially in areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides.

PAGASA also reminded the public that a Weather Advisory provides a provincial outlook covering the next 24 hours, while a Heavy Rainfall Warning offers more localized forecasts for the next three hours using Doppler radar. The latter serves as a more accurate basis for immediate decisions, including possible class suspensions and emergency response measures.

Unless significant changes occur, PAGASA said its next Weather Advisory would be issued at 11 p.m.

Mayor Kat Roxas Urges Preparedness as Tropical Depression Luis Threatens Luzon

PANIQUI, Tarlac — Mayor Kat Roxas on Sunday called on Paniqueños to remain vigilant and prepared as Tropical Depression Luis continues to move northwestward over the Philippine Sea, bringing the possibility of enhanced monsoon rains and gusty winds across parts of Luzon.

Although Tarlac Province remains outside the areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, the latest advisory from DOST-PAGASA warns that the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) may still bring periods of moderate to heavy rainfall over portions of Central Luzon in the coming days.

"Hinihikayat ko ang bawat Paniqueño na manatiling alerto at laging subaybayan ang mga opisyal na abiso ng PAGASA. Mas mabuting handa tayo kaysa magsisi sa huli. Kung sama-sama tayong mag-iingat at makikipagtulungan, mas magiging ligtas ang ating buong komunidad," Mayor Roxas said.

She reminded residents, particularly those living in flood-prone and low-lying communities, to secure their homes, prepare emergency go-bags, and avoid unnecessary travel during inclement weather. She also encouraged the public to immediately heed the instructions of local authorities should evacuation or other emergency measures become necessary.

Mayor Roxas assured residents that the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and other concerned local government offices continue to closely monitor the weather situation and remain on standby to respond to any emergencies.

The Paniqui local government also urged the public to rely only on verified updates from DOST-PAGASA and official government channels as Tropical Depression Luis continues to be monitored.
