The Story of the Young Shepherd and the Mighty Warrior

Long ago, in a valley surrounded by two great armies, there was a young shepherd named David. Every day, a giant warrior named Goliath mocked and threatened God’s people. His armor was strong, his voice was loud, and his confidence shook the hearts of the soldiers. None dared to face him—fear ruled their camp.

But David, though small and without a sword or shield, believed in a greater power. He said, “The battle is the Lord’s. He will deliver us.” With just a sling and five smooth stones, he stepped onto the battlefield.

As Goliath laughed, David declared, “You come to me with a sword and spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts.” Then, with faith, he released a stone that struck the giant down. The mighty warrior fell, and the people saw that victory came not from strength or weapons, but from the power of God.
