It was twenty years ago when Nolan's teacher, while on his deathbed, extolled the virtues of science and warned him of its dangers.

Nolan knew his teacher had always worried about him. Nolan specialized in the study of the multiverse, and he theorized that their universe was just one of countless others, like a drop in the ocean. But how could humans ever hope to measure the vastness of the cosmos when their life span would not even register on the cosmic scale? Perhaps through his research, Nolan will discover a bright new future for the Land of Dawn, but more likely he will toil in obscurity for the rest of his days.

Science was both his blessing and his curse. But he was a scholar of Eruditio, someone who fought for the freedom of others, and he never feared the unknown.

When Nolan learned of the cosmic threat known as the Calamity, he suggested looking beyond their universe for a way to prevent it. And so he initiated the Infinite Gateway Project, leading the research into dimensional portals and multiversal coordinate tracking technology. If he could unlock the door to the multiverse, he could not only disperse the cosmic forces of the Calamity into the void, but also create a brighter future for his world. If he could reach beyond the stars, his world could be saved.

He would devote his life to this mission.

Belerick stumbled upon the decline of Agelta Drylands during a meander of his many ago.

The despair and sorrow almost consumed him, when a blooming little flower suddenly broke into his sight. "There's still life!" Moved by such tenacious vitality, the treant decided to create what was later known as the Oasis at the place.

While creating the Oasis, Belerick unintentionally poured more power into the little flower, and the overflowing energy condensed into a glowing seed. The little flower, however, underwent an even more peculiar transition. It turned into a life form that had never appeared on the Land of Dawn–Floryn.

Since the day she was born, Floryn had never stepped out of the Oasis. The latter isolated her from the harsh environment of the desert, allowing her to live a life carefree. To Floryn, that glowing seed was the only mystery in her peaceful life. She spent the days contemplating the secret of the seed and the nights sleeping in the shade of the leaves. Only explorers and caravans would occasionally visit this undisturbed little world.

Among the caravans that frequented the Oasis, Floryn met a young man with a dazzling smile. He'd tell Floryn fun stories he'd seen or heard on his journey whenever he came to lodge at the Oasis. As their friendship gradually deepened, Floryn's trust in the young man also grew. She showed the young man the glowing seed, hoping the latter could help her solve the puzzle.

At first, the young man helped Floryn look for info about the seed wholeheartedly. As time went by, however, Floryn found the young man was always avoiding her eyes, and he'd change the subject whenever the seed was brought up. Floryn began to worry about the young man's state.

One night, Floryn woke up with a start. She was shocked to find the seed she'd always carried with her had disappeared!

Floryn searched everywhere in the Oasis but to no avail. Torn with anxiety, Floryn went to ask the young man for help, only to discover he'd already left the Oasis with his camel.

Vowing to find a way to revert the curse and repay the kindness of Vexana, Faramis voluntarily got eroded by the Mist and used himself as the specimen for his research.

Faramis came from a long line of physicians. With the ancestral staff passed down the family, his grandfather combined magic and medicine and developed cures for many once-incurable diseases. The feat earned the gifted physician a title from the Moniyan Empire, and the family had since served the royalties as their personal physicians.

None of these proved adequate to earn the family respect from their equals, though. The other nobles viewed them as mere servants with some special medical skills, while young Faramis, for this reason, was often bullied and ridiculed by his peers.

At a banquet, the boys struck again, and poor Faramis was left fainted on the ground of the back garden. When he regained consciousness, he saw a highborn girl half-knelt by his side, giving him medicine. That was the only time young Faramis had received kindness from his peers. The encounter, despite being brief, was like a ray of sunshine into his gloomy life.

Frail and sickly from birth, Faramis had brushed with death numerous times and survived only because of his parents' meticulous treatment. After many near-death experiences, he vowed to conquer death and take life into his own hands and was reluctant to serve the royalties as his family did.

The entire place seemed like it was on the verge of coming down. Gravel blasted in through the cracks of the windows, pelting the mugs like bullets. But at this moment, the traveler would rather be braving the sandstorm outside than spend another second in Snakebone Tavern. The traveler had come from the Moniyan Empire, intending to take advantage of the Festival of Enlightenment to study in Eruditio. He couldn't believe his luck finding a place to spend the night this far out in the desert. That is, until a group of Sand Hunters sat down at the table beside him and began ranting about their last job. He wrapped himself tightly in his cloak and pretended to enjoy the gravelly soup in front of him, trying not to look like their next victim.

The last time we had a sandstorm this fierce was when Ixia was born. That was sixteen years ago, on a night so dark you couldn't even see your own gun in your hands. Her mother, the then boss of Bad Soul, had gotten lost in the desert and was about to go into labor. But as things would have it, a shooting star flew over Eruditio and lit the way to Ixia's birth.

Many don't five a seconds to look to Diggie due to his small frame, until they come upon his researches in chronoscience. Diggie loves clocks, he believes that within these little mechanical toys lies many more yet to be discovered secrets.

Through, the use of his "Time Nest," Diggie can control the flow of time. He is also has also able to release his friends from the physical shackles of time, taking them along with him. Beware though, for itf you anger him, be prepared for the taste of a Hoot Hoot "Time Bomb!"
