Romans 12:1-2
Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

The Bible teaches that a reverent fear of God is a powerful motivator. It's not a fear of being punished, but a deep respect for who He is—holy, just, and loving. This respect naturally leads us to turn away from sin and temptation, because we desire to honor Him with our lives.

As Proverbs 16:6 says, "By the fear of the LORD one departs from evil." It's a key to living a righteous life.

Everyone goes through times of temptation. Even Jesus was repeatedly tempted. How we deal with temptation keeps us from or leads us into sin.

We resist or yield to temptation depending on how important God is to us.

When God is our top priority, we will be close enough to him to notice how he is showing us ways to resist the temptations bombarding us.
