๐๐๐๐: Metro Manila, Philippines โ The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued an advisory warning of heavy rains in several parts of the country as a low-pressure area (LPA) continues to affect the weather.
As of 3:00 a.m. on September 1, the LPA was spotted 570 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes. PAGASA said the weather disturbance will bring moderate to heavy rainfall over the Bicol Region, Aurora, Bulacan, Quezon, Rizal, Metro Manila, Visayas, Mimaropa, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon. The agency also warned of possible flooding and landslides, while the southwest monsoon is expected to bring additional rains.
In response, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced the suspension of classes in all levels across several provinces and cities, including the National Capital Region, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, Negros Occidental, Pampanga, and Rizal.
