Claude just fired a warning shot at SaaS.
With Opus 4.6 and the new “Fast Mode,” Anthropic is making Claude faster and more useful for businesses. Features like “Cowork” and deeper integrations with tools like Slack, Asana, Figma and Canva shows that Claude isn’t just generating text anymore, it’s executing tasks directly inside software. This is why SaaS stocks sold off sharply.
If AI can operate across tools, traditional software moats weaken. It is especially so for niche players, wrapper apps, or products with heavy feature overlap. The real leverage is upstream. Faster inference and deeper integration mean surging compute demand benefiting cloud partners like AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, and chip suppliers like Nvidia, Broadcom and Marvell. AI isn’t just assisting anymore. It’s starting to replace workflows and that reshapes the entire value chain.
