To My Rian and Ysabela,

I pray to be the kind of mother who gives you peace, not stress.
I want to be someone you can run to, not someone you are afraid of. I want to listen to you without judgment, to understand you even when you cannot find the words. I will not raise my voice just to prove a point, nor expect you to obey just because I am your parent.

As you grow older, I will respect your space, your thoughts, and your choices. I know there will come a time when you will want to decide for yourself and when that time comes, I promise to stand beside you, not in your way. And when you become a parent yourself, I will continue to support you, not control you.

You were not an accident. You were not a mistake.
You were prayed for, planned, and loved long before you were born. Your dad and I chose each other first, and together we chose you.

I want to break the cycle.
I want to unlearn the old ways that told children to stay silent, to never question, to simply follow. I don’t want to pass on the belief that parents are always right or that speaking up is disrespectful. In our home, your voice will be heard. Your feelings will matter.
