Remember SAF44? In 2015, the PNP Board of Inquiry was formed as an independent body to investigate the Mamasapano Clash. General Benjie Magalong,(Ret.) led the investigation. When the findings showed that former President Benigno Aquino III bypassed the chain of command, resulting in the death of 44 SAF commandos and 5 civilians, powerful people tried to block it. Some even forced changes to the report, but Sir Magalong stood firm. After releasing the report, he was removed from his position as CIDG Chief.
It's been 10 years since the SAF44 incident. Now, as an elected Mayor, Sir Benjie Magalong remains steadfast in upholding truth and justice.
