What is an eSIM?
An eSIM, or embedded SIM, is a digital version of a physical SIM card that's built into newer smartphones. It works by identifying your device and connecting it to a mobile network so you can make calls, send texts, and browse the internet. eSIMs are programmable remotely with software, and they can store multiple eSIM profiles, data plans, and numbers. This means you can use one eSIM to connect to different wireless carriers or swap phones without needing to buy a new SIM card.
