Sa bisa ng Executive Order No. 123 na nilagdaan noong Agosto 18, 2026, inilipat na sa Office of the President ang pangangasiwa sa PCUP at NAPC. Dati ay nasa ilalim ito ng DSWD.

Ayon sa Malacañang, layunin nito na mapabilis ang paghahatid ng tulong sa mga urban poor at mahihirap na pamilya.

‘MERON PO TALAGA NA ROBIN PADILLA LAW’

Sen. Robin Padilla thanked Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla for recognizing Republic Act No. 8294, which Padilla referred to as the “Robin Padilla Law.”

Remulla cited the law amid calls for Congress to strengthen regulations on loose fi****ms.

Padilla said the law made the possession of loose fi****ms a bailable offense and repealed provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1866, which had imposed stricter penalties for illegal fi****ms possession.

“Maraming salamat po sa aking itinuturing na kaibigan, SILG Jonvic Remulla, sa pag-confirm sa mga hindi nakakaalam na meron po talaga na Robin Padilla Law na nagpawalang-saysay sa batas militar o martial law na kung tawagin ay PD1866,” Padilla said.

‘STOP POINTING FINGERS & PLACING THE BLAME ON OTHERS’

Teacher-content creator Unfiltered Life of Karla has responded to remarks by PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro suggesting that schools and teachers also play a role in guiding the behavior and values of young people.

In a Facebook post, the educator questioned Castro’s statement that some teachers themselves teach students to become disrespectful, saying such behavior is not part of what teachers are expected to impart in the classroom.

The teacher added that educators already carry heavy workloads and rejected the idea that they would deliberately teach improper behavior to students.

“Kahit papalit palit tayo ng curriculum, wala yan sa competency. Sa dami na naming ginagawa mas uunahin pa naming matulog kesa magturo ng kabalbalan sa mga bata! Jusko po kami ba kasama ng mga yan simula isinilang yan sa mundo?!”

She ended her response by urging officials to stop shifting responsibility to others.

“Stop pointing fingers and placing the blame on others.”

Consistent honor student umano ang estudyanteng itinurong suspek sa pamamariI sa Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School nitong Martes, Agosto 18.

Batay sa mga kumakalat na larawan at ulat, nakatanggap umano ang estudyante ng “With Highest Honors” at may average na 95.03.

Dalawa ang kumpirmadong nasawi sa insidente, kabilang ang g*nman.

Iniimbestigahan din ng mga awtoridad ang mga ulat na nai-livestream umano ng suspek sa social media ang bahagi ng pag-atake.

REMULLA, SINABING BIKTIMA RIN ANG NASA LIKOD NG TRAHEDYA SA ATENEO DE ZAMBOANGA

Naniniwala si Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla na maituturing din na biktima ang suspek na nagpaulan ng bala sa loob ng Ateneo de Zamboanga ngayong Agosto 18, 2026.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Remulla na ang suspek ay isang Grade 9 student nasawi rin matapos tumalon sa ikalimang palapag ng paaralan.

“We’re all heartbroken for the families," ani Remulla. “We assure the public that we’re on top of this and we will do all corrective measures para hindi na maulit,"

Ayon pa kay Remulla ay inatasan niya na ang mga otoridad na tignan ang online history ng suspek upang malaman kung may kinalaman ba sa mga aktibidad nito sa internet ang desisyon nito.
