𝐭𝐏𝐁 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒: PCC Brings Students Together Through General Orientation and Student Development Symposium

Passi City College (PCC) brought together students from various departments during its Students' General Orientation 2026 held on August 13 at the City of Passi Arena, providing students with an opportunity to strengthen their connection with the college community through orientation, learning, and shared experiences.

The orientation featured presentations on the College’s academic programs, offices, services, policies, and institutional values. Faculty and staff were likewise introduced to the students as they continue to guide, support, and serve the PCC community throughout Academic Year 2026–2027.

Among the highlights of the program was the crowning of Mr. Kyle Windel P. Vicentino and Ms. Rhovelyn B. Paller, both from the School of Hospitality Management (SOHM), as Mr. and Ms. Face of A.Y. 2026–2027, respectively.

The program also featured the PCC Student Development Symposium, which tackled key issues on HIV awareness, prevention, testing, treatment, stigma reduction, and responsible digital influence. The discussions encouraged students to make informed decisions, promote awareness, and exercise responsibility in their use of social media and other digital platforms.

During the program, Dr. Janice Jennifer P. Palmares, College Administrator / President emphasized the importance of unity and collective identity among PCCnians, reminding them that despite taking different paths, they remain part of one community.

“In our life as one PCC community, we may sometimes move to the right or move to the left, stay at the center and turn around, but we will still move as one community, raising our flag as we fly high, PCCnians.”

Her message underscored the importance of staying united and carrying the name and identity of Passi City College with pride wherever the students’ individual journeys may lead.

The General Orientation 2026 served as an avenue for PCCnians to reconnect with the College’s programs, people, and shared values while strengthening their sense of belonging as members of one PCC community.

𝐭𝐏𝐁 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄: When the Crown Knows Your Name, SOHM’s Three-Year Reign Continues

Three years. Three pairs of winners. One remarkable streak.

The School of Hospitality Management (SOHM) of Passi City College has once again proven its winning tradition after securing the Mr. and Ms. Face of Academic Year title for three consecutive academic years, marking a remarkable grand slam from Academic Year 2024–2025 to 2026–2027.

The annual Mr. and Ms. Face of Academic Year competition is held during the Students' General Orientation of Passi City College, bringing together students from different departments to showcase not only their confidence and presence, but also their ability to represent themselves and their advocacies.

For SOHM, the winning streak began in Academic Year 2024–2025, when Mr. Edrian Aguirre and Ms. Jhella Pillarco captured the titles and set the stage for what would become an extraordinary three-year run.

The following year, SOHM continued its legacy as Mr. Jhon Arben Villafuerte and Ms. Mary Florence Barredo emerged as the Mr. and Ms. Face for Academic Year 2025–2026. Their victory proved that the previous year's success was more than a one-time achievement, it was becoming a tradition.

And now, for Academic Year 2026–2027, SOHM has completed the streak.

Mr. Kyle Windel Vicentino and Ms. Rhovelyn Paller were recently crowned as the newest Mr. and Ms. Face of Passi City College, officially giving SOHM its much celebrated three-streak win.

But what makes this achievement even more meaningful is that the competition goes beyond physical appearance.

The candidates are judged not only on their face and overall presence, but also on the advocacy they carry and communicate. In a competition where representation matters, the title becomes a reflection of confidence, character, and the ability to stand for something meaningful.

For three consecutive years, SOHM students have successfully stepped onto the stage and proven that they can do exactly that.

From Aguirre and Pillarco, to Villafuerte and Barredo, and now Vicentino and Paller, each winning pair has added another chapter to SOHM's growing legacy.

Their victories also reflect the values deeply associated with hospitality: confidence, communication, presence, and the ability to connect with people. These qualities extend far beyond the stage, becoming essential skills for future hospitality professionals who are expected to represent themselves, their institutions, and the industry with pride.

The three consecutive victories therefore represent more than three crowns.

They represent three generations of SOHM students who dared to step forward, speak for something they believe in, and carry the name of their school with confidence.

As the newest Mr. and Ms. Face begin their reign, one thing is already certain: the crown may belong to this year's winners, but the achievement belongs to an entire school.

2024–2025. 2025–2026. 2026–2027.

And for the School of Hospitality Management, the winning tradition continues.

𝐭𝐏𝐁 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓: The PCC Student Development Symposium was successfully held this afternoon at the City of Passi Arena with the theme, “Empowering Students Through Health Awareness, Social Protection, and Responsible Digital Influence.”

The event brought students together for an afternoon of meaningful discussions, valuable insights, and important reminders about health awareness, social protection, and responsible use of digital platforms.

Through this activity, students were encouraged to become more informed, responsible, and empowered individuals who can make positive choices and contribute to a safer and better community.

A meaningful event filled with knowledge, awareness, and inspiration.

Paller both from The Home of the Champions — School of Hospitality Management, who have officially been crowned Mr. and Ms. Face of Academic Year 2026–2027 during the ongoing Students' General Orientation of Passi City College at the City of Passi Arena.

Both candidates stood out with their confidence, charisma, and remarkable stage presence, captivating the audience and making their presence felt throughout the event.

As they take on the titles, they now become among the faces representing the spirit and pride of the PCC community.

𝐭𝐏𝐁 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓: The School of Hospitality Management (SOHM) officially introduced its faculty and staff during the Passi City College General Orientation 2026 held at the City of Passi Arena.

Dr. Jojo L. Tibang, Dean of SOHM, led the introduction of the department’s faculty and staff, giving students the opportunity to meet the educators and personnel who will be part of their academic journey.

The introduction marks the beginning of another academic year as the SOHM faculty and staff continue their commitment to guiding, supporting, and serving the PCC community.

𝐭𝐏𝐁 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒: SOHM Student Represents Passi City College in CHED–DDB Regional Training

Mecaella Marielle Martinez, a student of the School of Hospitality Management (SOHM) of Passi City College, represented the institution during the Training of Trainers on Life Skills Enhancement on Drug Abuse Prevention and Education – Region VI, held from July 20–24, 2026, at Sotogrande Iloilo.

The training conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), aimed to strengthen the capacity of Higher Education Institutions in promoting student well-being and drug abuse prevention through life skills education.

The activity equipped participants with approaches to promote healthy choices, resilience, responsible decision-making, and positive behaviors among students through interactive activities, case scenarios, role-playing, and group discussions.

Martinez's participation highlights the involvement of SOHM and Passi City College in regional initiatives that promote student health, well-being, and holistic development, bringing valuable learning and experiences back to the PCC community.
