In a world filled with noise, the voices of the youth echoed far and wide.

The annual Grade 12 Symposium was held in the AVR on April 11 with the theme “Cultural Voices: Empowering Youth to Embrace Diversity, Critical Thinking, and Advocacy in the Digital Age.” As part of their Media, Information, and Literacy project, students set up interactive booths at the podium and welcomed two guest speakers to take part in the event. First was Dean Rhea Rowena Apolinario, the current dean of UP Diliman’s School of Library and Information Studies, who spoke on youth empowerment and historical awareness through fiction, while Miss Nina Floreza Liu, an SHSQC alumna and former Rappler multimedia producer, discussed the role of digital media literacy among the youth during elections.

The program continued with a fashion show presented by the Grade 11 students, featuring designs inspired by the works of GAMABA awardees while adding their own personal touch to the cultural pieces. Finally, the day ended with a research colloquium, where selected Grade 12 research groups presented their studies alongside representatives from The Seed Montessori School.

Though this symposium is the culminating event for the Grade 12 seniors, it continues to serve as a reminder of what the creative voices of the youth are capable of when given the platform to speak, create, and shape the future.

And just like that, March has passed us in the blink of an eye!

Last March 8 and 15, members of our school faculty, personnel, and volunteer students and parents were given the opportunity to participate in the Bayanihan Painting Activity. The event was organized by the School Leadership Team with the aim of transforming the school wall facing F. Sotto Street into SHSQC’s brand-new Wall of Excellence. Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers, our school now has a place to showcase the many talents and achievements of our beloved SHSQC community.

With just one month of activities left ahead of us, let us take this time to cherish and look back on every moment shared with our loved ones at SHSQC.

Hey, Seniors! We know you have been waiting for this for a long time and it’s finally here!

The new Senior High uniform is here! And it’s completely unlike what we’ve seen before. Composed of tan culottes, a button up underneath a vest, and a red tie, it gives a unique feel that is different from our usual tan dress, but kept some aspects to still give a sense of belongingness to the SHSQC community. The new uniform does not mean separation from the rest of the community; instead, it indicates new responsibility and maturity as seniors.

Find out more about the new senior high uniform by going to https://holyspirit.edu.ph/bfhomes and visiting the Student Media Hub tab where you can read an article about it under the Voices section of the website.

Last March 10 to 14, the SHSQC Community came together in the spirit of unity and mission for the celebration of Academic Week. The theme, “Connections: Bridging Learning, Building Futures”, provided students with opportunities to showcase their skills and capabilities through various presentations and competitions, nurturing collaboration, individuality, and creativity.

The week kicked off with the Character Parade on March 10, wherein SHSians expressed positivity and hope, through creative costumes representing dynamic characters. On March 12, the Sci-Amazing Race, held in the San Loreno Ruiz Hall, allowed students from Grades 7 to 10 to demonstrate their logical and critical thinking skills through practical applications of science.

Other engaging activities included the Literary Musical, Research Expo, Robotics, Math Booths, Cook Fest, Bible Storytelling, Marks of Hope, and Keyboard Masters.

Healthy competition was encouraged, but as the week ended, the lessons learned, insights gained, and camaraderie fostered mattered the most, reflecting long-lasting connections.

With the national elections fast approaching, it is crucial to be well-informed about the leaders who will shape our future. 🇵🇭

To instill this political awareness, the SHSQC organized the 2025 Mock Senatorial Elections for the Senior High School department. 🗳️

The Grade 11 students prepared for the elections by creating campaign posters for the senatorial candidates days before the actual voting dates. And on March 14, 2025, they marched to the Senior High School Computer Lab for the first day of elections. There, the students had the chance to cast their votes, serving as a reminder that the leaders they choose today will have a direct impact on the country's governance in the future.

The second day of the Senatorial Mock Elections took place last March 18, 2025, when the Grade 12 students had the opportunity to experience the voting process firsthand. The faculty and staff members also participated, making the event more memorable!

This wasn’t just a Mock Election—it was a glimpse into democracy in action! ✨By engaging in this initiative, the students were able to further recognize the power of their votes and their role in shaping the nation’s future as the next generation of voters.

February was a month full of reflection and discovery in SHSQC, as each student was brought together to embrace their talents and seize the opportunities ahead.

Last February 14, 2025, the Grade 2 pupils commemorated the Feast Day of their patron saint, St. Bernadette of Lourdes, in a meaningful celebration. The event provided the young pupils with the opportunity to reflect on and embody the faith, hope, and perseverance that St. Bernadette exemplified throughout her lifetime.

Just a week later, on February 21, the Grade 11 students participated in a career orientation held in the AVR. The day started with a discussion on various career paths and the importance of making informed decisions about their future. After a short break, students were separated according to their senior high school strands, where they had the chance to hear valuable insights from professionals and SHSQC alumni about their respective careers, helping the students gain a clearer perspective on the opportunities that align with their academic interests.

As we continue to grow, let these moments remind us about the importance of spiritual reflection and thorough career planning as we entrust all of them to our Lord.

The festival of hope and love has come and gone, but the magic lives on!

FESTANÇA: SHSQC Feast of Hope delivered a two-day experience that kept everyone at the edge of their seats! Held from February 7-8 at the School of the Holy Spirit of Quezon City campus, the celebration was a whirlwind of energy, bringing nothing short of fun and bliss.

The festivities kicked off with a lineup of attractions, including FESTANÇA’s Fun Run, Field Demo, and the Amazing Race. The two-day event also featured MELIORA: Open Mic 2025, The VOICE: SHSQC Edition, INDAK NG LAHI, and many more, showcasing the incredible talent of students, teachers, and guests.

The highlight of the event came with the long-awaited variety show, VAUDEVILLE: A Bright Spotlight of Hope and bandfest, HOPE: Harmonies of Pursuit and Energy. Both shows took over the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hall, igniting both nights of the fair with electrifying performances from the SHSQC community (students, faculty, parents and alumni), that unveiled the spirit and magic of the performing arts.

Although the fair season has ended, the dedication and solidarity shared by the SHSQC Family will surely not be forgotten. FESTANÇA 2025 was more than just a series of activities; It was a festival that created lasting memories and an ever-burning passion among SHSians, making it truly remarkable.

Let us continue to relive the magic of the fair season by reading Phoemela Manahan's “FESTANÇA 2025: Journeying as Pilgrims of Hope” in the Student Media Hub tab of the VOICES section, found on https://holyspirit.edu.ph/bfhomes

Thank you for adding your spark to the magic we’ll never forget!
