📌📌 Division-Led Psychological Assessment for Learners with Disabilities In Progress at San Francisco Pilot Elementary School
The Division of Agusan del Sur, led by Education Program Supervisor for SNED Dr. Ma. Veronica Ivy C. Torrefranca, has launched a major educational initiative: the Division-led Psychological Assessment for Learners with Disabilities (LWDs), currently taking place at San Francisco Pilot Elementary School, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur from February 2 to 11, 2026.
This activity is conducted in compliance with the Department of Education Order No. 44, series of 2021 (Policy Guidelines on the Provision of Educational Programs and Services for Learners with Disabilities in the K to 12 Basic Education Program), which mandates appropriate identification, assessment, and support services for learners with disabilities across the country.
The psychological assessment aims to determine the cognitive, socio-emotional, motor, and learning needs of participating learners to help develop tailored educational strategies, intervention plans, and support services for each child. According to DepEd Order No. 44, psychological and multi-disciplinary evaluations are essential to establish the strengths and areas for development of learners with disabilities.
School administrators, special education (SPED) teachers, guidance counselors, psychologists, and other trained professionals were mobilized to facilitate the assessment sessions. Results from the assessments will serve as the basis for the development or enhancement of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), as well as for determining appropriate learner placement and intervention strategies.
Parents and guardians actively participated in the process, with strict observance of informed consent and confidentiality protocols. The collaborative initiative highlights the division’s continued commitment to inclusive education and compliance with national policies that promote equitable learning opportunities for all learners, regardless of ability.
The activity is expected to conclude on February 11, 2026, after which assessment results will be reviewed and used to support learners’ educational plans and services for the remainder of the school year.
