|| FRASER'S DOLPHINS AND SHORT-FINNED PILOT WHALES IN PUERTO PRINCESA BAY

These photos were taken on August 21, 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic was just winding down. At that time, Fraser’s dolphins and short-finned pilot whales seemed to enjoy a period of rest in their natural home right here in Puerto Princesa Bay.

The tiny, stocky-bodied Fraser's dolphin has a short snout and swims quickly. They are recognized for their powerful jumps and move in huge groups. The short-finned pilot whale, on the other hand, is a whale with a blunt beak and very small fins. They have good skills at hunting squid in deep waters and live in close-knit family groupings.

It's a beautiful sight to watch them in their own habitat—where they live freely, sometimes playing under the sun, and allowing visitors a rare chance to witness their world.

Nananatiling mataas ang morale ng mga sundalong naka-deploy ngayon sa BRP Sierra Madre na nasa Ayungin Shoal, ayon kay Western Command chief Vice Admiral Alfonso Torres Jr.

Ani Torres, nakausap niya ang mga sundalo kamakailan at sinabi niyang nasa “high spirits” ang mga ito sa kabila ng insidenteng naganap sa Bajo de Masinloc noong August 11 kung saan nagkabanggaan ang dalawang barko ng People’s Liberation Army-Navy at China Coast Guard habang hinahabol ang BRP Suluan ng Philippine Coast Guard.

Ilang araw matapos ang insidente ay namataan ang presensya ng ilang barko ng CCG at maritime militia sa bisinidad ng Ayungin Shoal, subalit napigilan ng mga sundalong Pilipino ang tangkang paglapit ng mas maliit na bangka ng China sa BRP Sierra Madre.

Dagdag pa ni Torres, tuloy lang ang trabaho ng mga sundalong Pilipino sa barko at palaging handa ang Wescom sa anumang maaaring maganap. — via GERALD TICKE

Pinuri nina Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro at Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Marc Innes-Brown ang anila’y matagumpay na Combined and Joint Forcible Entry Operations (CJFEO) sa pagitan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at ng Australian Defence Force na ginawa sa Long Beach sa bayan ng San Vicente ngayong araw ng Linggo, August 24.
