And here I am, missing her more than words can say. I wish I could be the one she’s hugging instead. I wish I could always be there beside her, holding her close, instead of being away so often.

She may not understand everything that’s happening in her life right now, but I hope that someday, when she’s old enough to understand, she’ll know how much I loved her, how much I missed her, and how hard I tried to be there for her in every way I could.
