Grateful doesn’t mean you have to be okay all the time. You can count your blessings and still admit na pagod ka na. Both can be true. 🤍

Mental health support is one important piece of the puzzle.

Kailangan natin ng mas prepared na school community .. teachers and parents who know how to respond, students who know how to listen and speak up, at systems that can connect people to the right professional help.

It means learning how to care, how to notice, and where to turn when someone needs help.

Pati teachers, parents, school personnel, at buong community.

Because creating safer schools isn’t just about responding when something goes wrong. It’s also about building a community where people feel safe enough to speak before they reach that point.

We often call these choices
But for someone else? These are luxuries!

Grabe pala talaga habang tumatanda ka.

You realize that one of the most expensive things a person can have isn’t money, a house, or a car.

It’s the freedom to have an option.

Because the truth is.
Not everyone can afford to make a choice.

Kaya totoo talaga yung sabe nila ee.

How can we judge someone with their decisions
if we know nothing about their options.

So if you have a choice today, be grateful for it.
And I hope you don’t take it for granted.

Because you may be living a blessing you once thought was ordinary. 🥹🤍

Imagine a school where every child feels safe enough to say, “Hindi ako okay.” 🥹

Imagine a student who is struggling knowing there is someone who will listen.

A child who is hurting knowing they don’t have to hide it.

A young person who is overwhelmed, afraid, angry, or confused knowing there is a safe space where they can speak without being judged.

Because sometimes, what a young person needs most is not another lecture.

They need someone to ask,
“Kumusta ka talaga?”

This is what makes Tara, Usap!

This is a DSWD initiative that creates safe and supportive spaces where young people can connect, support one another, and care for their mental health and well-being.

And with everything happening in our schools and communities, sana ganitong klaseng space ang mayroon sa bawat school.

A place where students can talk before things become too heavy.

A place where asking for help is not embarrassing.

A place where being vulnerable is not a weakness.

A place where someone notices when a student suddenly becomes quiet.

A place where every young person knows:

“May makikinig sa’yo.”

“May tutulong sa’yo.”

“Hindi mo kailangang harapin mag-isa.”

Because safer schools are not built only through rules and discipline.

They are also built through connection, understanding, and conversations.

Because sometimes, one conversation can be the reason someone chooses not to suffer in silence.

Is it bad to ask for rest amidst all of your blessings, simply because you feel tired and exhausted?

These were the words of Gretchen Ho in a conference I attended last weekend.

For context ..

She shared about taking a sabbatical leave in the middle of all the beautiful things happening in her life

Amidst success, opportunities, and blessings.

Amidst the peak of her career.

And it’s also her first time sharing she is slowly getting back to her career again.

Of course when she took a leave,
some people asked:

“Hindi ka ba grateful?”

“May kulang pa ba?”

“Bakit kailangan mong magpahinga nandito ka na?”

But maybe the answer is simple.

Hindi naman siya ungrateful.

Pagod lang siya.

And somehow, hearing those words made me cry.

Because that was me for the past few months.

No one really knew how tired I was because I had to keep going.

There were blessings.
There were opportunities.
There were things I had prayed for.

So I felt guilty for admitting that I was exhausted.

Parang paano ako mapapagod when I prayed for all of these things?

How could I ask for rest when there are so many things to be grateful for?

But eventually, I realized…

You can be grateful and still be tired.

You can love the life God is giving you and still need to pause.

You can appreciate the opportunity and still admit that you don’t have the capacity to give 100% every single day.

So I paused a little.

I showed up when I could.

And slowly, I learned that resting doesn’t mean I am giving up.

Hindi pala kasalanan ang magpahinga.

Being tired does not mean you are ungrateful.

Even Jesus took time to rest.

And in that pause

I realized something deeper:

Maybe we don’t always get burned out because we are doing too much.

Sometimes, we get tired because we are carrying things that were never ours to carry.

We keep saying yes because we don’t want to disappoint people.

We keep carrying responsibilities because we think everything will fall apart if we let go.

We keep trying to save everyone

Forgetting that we were never asked to carry the whole world.

Pangalawa at pinakamahalaga kung bakit napapagod tayo.

Minsan, what we are doing is no longer aligned with what God is asking us to do.

And sometimes, the hardest thing isn’t knowing what to do next.

It’s having the courage to pause long enough to ask:

“Lord, ito pa ba talaga yung gusto Mong gawin ko?”

Because maybe the exhaustion is not always a sign that you need to work harder.

Maybe sometimes

It’s an invitation to surrender.

Normal lang mapagod.

Normal lang magpahinga.

Normal lang huminga.

But when you finally pause,
I hope you don’t only ask yourself,

“Paano ako makakabalik agad?”

Maybe ask something deeper:

“Where am I rooted?”

Am I rooted in love?

Am I rooted in peace?

Am I rooted in God?

Or am I rooted in the need to prove that I am enough?

Am I rooted in purpose?

Or am I rooted in pressure?

Because sometimes …

We don’t need another reminder to keep going.

Sometimes, we need permission to stop carrying what God never asked us to carry.

So if you’re tired today, I hope you know this:

You are not less grateful because you need rest.

You are not weak because you need a pause.

And you are not failing just because you cannot show up at 100% today.

Maybe rest is not the opposite of showing up.

Maybe rest is how God teaches us to show up again

not empty,

not desperate to prove ourselves,

but whole.

Yes, whole!

So breathe.

Pause.

Let God carry what you can no longer carry.

Hindi kasalanan ang mapagod.

And maybe, this season isn’t asking you to do more.

Maybe it’s asking you to come home to where you are truly rooted. ❤️

Grateful for every planting season, and for all the times we chose to show up even when it felt scary, uncertain, and unknown. 🌱✨

4th TV guesting. 🤍✨ Still hard to believe to say that. Thank you G, lagi’t lagi. 🥹

What started as a dream I quietly carried in my heart has slowly become something I get to live out.

Thank you, Kada Umaga, for welcoming me once again and giving me the platform to talk about something close to my heart: mental health, emotions, and the little things we often experience but rarely talk about. ❤️✨

Today, we talked about why rainy days can make us feel sad, tired, or unmotivated. 🌧️

And somehow, it reminded me of something bigger:

You don’t have to be at your best every day to be making progress.

Some days you shine.
Some days you simply survive.

And both are part of the journey.

I’m deeply grateful for every opportunity to use my voice.

Not just to share what I know, but hopefully to remind someone watching that their feelings are valid, rest is allowed, and brighter days will come. 🤍

4th TV guesting and still dreaming bigger. ✨

Here’s to more conversations that make mental health feel a little less scary, a little more human, and a lot more understood. 🌱

Thank you Lord! Always and in all ways ❤️

Maybe you’re not tired of life… maybe you’re just tired of always having to be the strong one. 🤍

Spent a beautiful day at the JEWELS Conference—surrounded by women who reminded me that rest doesn’t always mean doing nothing.

Sometimes, rest is worshipping, learning, laughing with your girls, having coffee, sharing a meal, and simply being in a room where you don’t have to carry everything alone.

To every woman who’s been quietly holding everything together: you’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to be cared for, too. 🥹🤍

Maybe we don’t always need to become stronger.

Sometimes, we just need a place where we can finally breathe.

The hardest truth you’ll ever accept is this:

Sometimes, people aren’t pulling away because they hate you.

They’re exhausted.

Not because you’re “too much,” but because emotional immaturity can make love feel heavy.

When every disagreement becomes a fight…

When every boundary feels like rejection…

When every correction sounds like an attack…

When every conversation revolves around proving you’re right instead of understanding…

People slowly stop feeling emotionally safe.

The painful part?

Most emotionally immature people aren’t bad people.

They’re often deeply wounded people who never learned how to regulate their emotions, communicate their needs, or heal the parts of themselves that are still hurting.

And hurt people don’t just hurt people.

They also push away the very people who were trying to stay.

Healing begins when we stop asking, “Why does everyone leave?”

And start asking, “What pain inside me still needs compassion, accountability, and healing?”

Because emotional maturity isn’t about never making mistakes.

It’s about having the courage to own them, grow from them, and become a safer place, for yourself and for the people you love.

❤️ The cycle can end with you.
