On April 29, in collaboration with our sponsoring club - the Rotary Club of Uptown Cubao together with the Rotary Club of Greenhills and the Interact Club of San Juan National High School, we hosted a fantastic webinar on empowering women with added knowledge on security features of money, and it was an incredibly inspiring and informative event. This is the 3rd installment of our Jumpstart Your Journey to Financial Wellness series.

As a club that's committed to promoting women's empowerment, we recognize the importance of financial literacy and security in achieving this goal. During the webinar, we had our Charter President Charlene Cajano, who is a Licensed Financial Consultant and currently finishing her MBA at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, share her insights on various money security features and how women can better protect themselves financially. We believe that education is key to unlocking women's financial empowerment, and this webinar was just one step towards that goal. We're proud to have been a part of this important conversation and look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.

On January 15, our Rotaract Club had an incredible opportunity to connect with our friends from the Rotaract Club of Swarna Bengaluru from RID 3190 as part of our joint project, Project MYTHRI. This project was all about promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and friendship between our two clubs. Prior to the joint meeting and fellowship, we exchanged interesting facts about India and the Philippines and posted them on both of our clubs' social media pages, which was a fantastic way to learn about each other's cultures.

During the event, we exchanged letterheads and gave updates on club projects done during the year, which was a great way to showcase our respective clubs and cultures. We also had a talent show that showcased the best of Philippine and Indian music, which was truly amazing. It was an unforgettable experience that brought our two clubs closer together, and we're excited to continue working together on future projects. Thanks to the Rotaract Club of Swarna Bengaluru for being such a fantastic partner and for making this project a success!

Education is a powerful tool that can help a person strive for a better tomorrow. With it, dreams that were once unreachable now become within one’s reach, possibilities shine brighter, and it turns the uncertainties of the future pieced together. As Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. puts it, “A man’s mind, stretched by new ideas, may never return to its original dimensions”. Through learning, every individual’s ideas, aspirations, and dreams expand. Allowing anyone to explore perceptions and grow from different lenses. It becomes the key to opening the passageway for critical yet imaginative thinking, making the sky the limit. However, keeping our reality checked, everything has a limit. But through someone’s helping hands, this limit can be extended.

Julianna Rose Galiza finished her final year in junior high school with high honors and went to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines for senior high school. She was elected as the District Interact Representative of RID3780. However, she encountered difficulties in fulfilling her functions given that she lacked devices. In light of this, the Rotary Club of Ayala Heights promptly responded by providing her with a laptop, which enabled her to fulfill her duties both as a student and as the DIR. As for her, the laptop served not only as a tool for her studies but also as a motivation to do better. This initiative motivated her to give back by helping more people in the future. She was the very first beneficiary of the laptop donations and for that; she was thankful. It has been a year and four months and she still uses the laptop.

On the other hand, the virtual class setup also proved to be challenging for a teacher like Ms. Sherry Ann Jove. An educator herself highlighted that the pandemic challenged her techniques of using different applications to incorporate different styles of teaching to make her class more engaging. In addition, it became a struggle because her laptop limited her from exploring applications. Receiving the great news of the laptop donation, she felt so blessed when the laptop was turned over. She described it as a precious gift that will help her with her online work and will allow her to provide a fun-filled virtual class discussion and atmosphere for her students. She was grateful for all the assistance of the Rotary Club of Ayala Heights. To her, the lessons and the pieces of advice they are imparting, especially to the youth servant leaders, will surely be lived. To show her appreciation, she wrote, “Rotary Club of Ayala Heights has a great set of people who always look for the welfare of everyone. I can see in them the power of service over the club’s recognition. They have a great impact on continuing my passion in shepherding both the Interactors and Rotaractors.”

Raisa Tunay is a college student and an active leader in the community. She is also the current president of the Rotaract Club of Culiat. The commitments she has requires her to use a laptop to accomplish tasks. Her school works alone consume most of her time, but the struggle was further amplified for her since she and her siblings take turns in using their one laptop. When she was chosen as the recipient of the laptop donation, all she felt was gratefulness since she no longer wait for her turn just to start her work.

Having the same situation as Raisa, Pauline Star Gamboa struggled to keep up with her requirements. She only had one family computer that they shared with her siblings. Her course demands her to learn and navigate the tools they needed for the software. The laptop helped her to have personal storage and management of her files for the convenience of her learning. She was glad and thankful for the gadget.

Rotary Club of Ayala Heights has always been generous in extending help to those who deserve it, may it be for Rotaractors’ academic concerns or a chosen community's needs. The Rotary Club of Ayala Heights laptop donation project provided their four beneficiaries hope, paving a way for achieving the Rotaractors’ dreams. This only shows how Rotarians of Ayala Heights are an embodiment of service above one’s self.

"Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal." —Vince Lombardi.

The Interact Club of Culiat High School in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Culiat hosted their first ever Interact 101 last September 11, 2022. Through a one-day webinar, the Interact Club of Culiat shed light on the newly inducted members of the Interact Club of Culiat High School.

Members of the RAC Culiat, who were also former Interactors, served as Resource Speakers for the event. Rotaract Club Charter President/Treasurer Joanna Rae Señar and Secretary Camille Montemayor talked about Leadership & the executive roles in an organization; President-Elect Pauline Star Gamboa and the Rotary Foundation Director/Finance Service Director, Juliana Rose Galiza talked about the duties of the Service Directors during the breakout session. Imaginative Super President Raisa Tunay and Public Image Service Director Harlliequine Arizala shared their Interact to Rotaract Journey as well.

They also invited Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative Dianna Isabelle Desuyo to become the Plenary Resource Speaker. IPDRR Dianna imparted new knowledge to the Interactors as well as the Rotaractors about the History of Rotary and her Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary journey. All were amazed by her dedication and now are inspired to pave a path that IPDRR Dianna walks through.
Interact 101 ignited the fire in every attendee’s heart to serve and help the community.

Keep the fire of serving above ourselves burning, leaders!

The COVID-19 pandemic brought dramatic social and economic changes in the daily lives of people all over the globe. Numerous studies have reported the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of the global population, which includes increased levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. It is a fact that quarantine, isolation, and social distancing are related to anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, etc. Fear of the effects pandemic has been prevalent among people of any age, gender, and culture. Fear blanketed the entire global population.

The theme of Year 3 is Responding to Challenges towards the New Normal, which enables the Rotaract Club of Balintawak in partnership with Rotaract Club of Pasay Cyber City, RID 3810, and Rotaract Club of Carmel Valley, RID 3870, to offer sessions and discussions about the effects of the pandemic. The sessions impeccably discussed the coping mechanisms that might reduce the adverse effects of mental health problems in the community. The topics also incorporated the need to promote awareness among individuals to fight the adversities of the effects of fear, anxiety, and depression brought about by COVID-19.

With such a line of beneficial seminars, individuals can know how to manage their stress and anxieties and apply for the proper intervention or support when necessary. Coming to the period of the New Normal, people are expected to be more resilient and watchful about their mental health. They may motivate individuals to come out of the darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic and live with peace of mind.

The event held garnered a total funding of Php 10,500, which is aimed at the Watchers and Caretakers of The House of Hope Foundation.
