My mom was right…
Hi, my name is Gibo. I grew up in Nueva Ecija. I never knew my dad, so it was just me and my mom. I was not good at making friends. My classmates and even the kids in our neighborhood thought I was weird. I barely talked and most of the time I just sat alone like I had my own world.

Worried about me, my mom saved up and bought me a computer so I would not just sit alone. I remembered watching Ragnarok the Animation on TV and hearing that it was a real online game. I got excited, installed it, and played for the first time. Hours passed without me noticing. I enjoyed hunting mobs, gaining experience, and exploring the world.

When I reached Payon, I struggled until an archer offered me a party. That was how I met James. We started playing every weekend. As time went on, our group grew bigger. I found myself surrounded by people who wanted to party, chat, and laugh with me. Without even realizing it, I was already making friends.
My mom noticed the change in me. I would tell her stories about my adventures, my guild mates, and the fun I had with them. She was happy to see me smiling.

One day, our group decided to meet in real life. I was nervous, thinking they might not like me in person. But the moment we met, they hugged me and treated me the same way they did in the game. That was when I realized they accepted me for who I was.
Now I have many friends, real confidence, and memories that started with an MMORPG. My mom was right all along.
