What can the next generation learn from Arizza Nocum?

That leadership doesn't wait for permission, and frustration is only as powerful as where you direct it.

This generation has been welcomed with climate emergencies, economic uncertainty, and conflict, Arizzaโ€™s journey proves that young people have both the space and the responsibility to lead. Rather than letting widespread anxiety lead to apathy, she models how to convert collective outrage into structured, measurable action.

Growing up in an interfaith Catholic and Muslim home taught her early on to find strength in diversity and dialogue. She transformed that perspective into tangible global impact: co-founding KRIS for Peace, driving over $5 million in educational and leadership initiatives across conflict-affected communities, countering violent extremism with the Kofi Annan Foundationโ€™s Extremely Together movement, and championing free expression with the World Expression Forum.

Her core lesson for emerging leaders is that empathy is a strategic tool, bridges are built through active listening, and sustainable change happens when local initiatives meet global vision.

Chelsea Dy challenged herself with not one but eight internships during her college days.

She jumped from one industry to another, turning every work into her preparation for corporate life.

Yet, after experiencing the culture of late night and weekend grinds from working at investment banking and tech venture building firm, she knew there's more she could do. This was when she decided to shift her work into helping the Filipino community.

โ€œI showed up for myself, I did what I can, I worried a lot during that time, and I think it bears fruit โ€“ my worries became actions and became results.โ€

The experiences she gained became her foundation as her online persona Chelsea Dygital. With over 100,000 followers across platforms, and 10M + total views, she breaks down complex topics to inform her viewers about a common problem we all face - managing our finances.

A pressing everyday issue we cannot ignore yet few discuss.

Thatโ€™s the core belief driving Chelsea Dy (Chelsea Dygital), our go-to financial coach for a new generation. Her success is not built overnight. She started figuring things out step-by-step, hustling across industries, and earning while studying.

Eight internships later, Chelsea forged a bulletproof mindset.

Don't sit back and wait for feedback. Hunt for it. Ask your managers and peers where you can add value and how you can level up. Those raw, practical insights are the exact blueprint for your personal growth.

Leaving comfort behind is terrifying, but fortune favors the bold. Chelsea took the leap from corporate employee to thriving consultant and digital creator, un-gatekeeping wealth-building for young Filipinos everywhere.

Tony Olaes, the creator of The Filipino Story, grew up in the United States. He didn't speak the Filipino language fluently.

In fact, he used to hate being known as a Filipino.

โ€œ(Filipinos in informal settlements) are just lazy, bad and kidnapping people. That's the perception that I grew up in my generation from TV. It was bad news because there's a lot of money to be made from it.โ€

That all changed when he visited the Philippines and saw that even those who have less in life is more than willing to give or share.

When asked about his favorite Filipino word, he points to bayanihan:

"My journey was uniquely different from yours. I grew up in an environment, American capitalism, that is all about making money. That's it. Itโ€™s just me, me, me. But, when I came here (in the Philippines), it's about โ€œweโ€. Thatโ€™s probably the biggest thing that I've learned coming back and forth to the Philippines."Tony said.

For Tony, learning the language meant unlearning individualism. The second word he deeply connects with is kapwa:

"I used to work in the post office in the US. I worked at the graveyard shift. There was this Pinoy that would come into the lunch room. He had his tupperware with his adobo and rice. There were ten of us in the lunch room. After he heats it up, he comes up, puts it in the middle of the table and says "Come on, everybody! Let's eat!" I couldn't understand the gesture. But I do now. Because of that connection, because of that "kapwa" within us. We are caring and sharing with people."

Living oceans away gave Tony the clarity to see what truly matters. In the end, being Filipino is not defined by geography or fluency, but by the care, shared identity, and love we extend to one another.

But this is not your typical love story.

Tony Olaes, the visionary behind The Filipino Story, once felt indifferent toward the Philippines. Returning with hesitation, he gave his homeland another chance, and discovered a connection he never expected. Twenty years ago, a visit to a Gawad Kalinga community with his uncle changed everything. Welcomed and being called as โ€œAnakโ€ (son), invited to share meals, Tony was struck by the warmth of people living in informal settlements.

Despite their modest shanties, their joy and hospitality shattered his misconceptions of the country as a land of danger.

โ€œI couldn't understand it, but I felt it,โ€ he recalls. โ€œWhy is it that I feel so close to these strangers even though I don't know them?โ€ This connection prompted him to be on a mission to make the Filipino diaspora in the United States fall in love with the Filipino culture.

In 2015, he founded The Filipino School to teach culture and language, later transitioning to social media to reach a wider audience. Today, The Filipino Story serves as Tonyโ€™s love letter to his Filipino roots - a thriving platform dedicated to history, community, and the beauty of being a Filipino.

We often assume articulate speakers are naturally confident.

Yet public speakers and content creators, like Gianna Abao , also started with hesitation.

Gia initially preferred writing over speaking because writing gives you time to think, while speaking does not. Mastering a framework like SMART (Specific, Meaningful, Actionable, Relevant, and Time-bound) allows you to communicate effectively even when you are anxious.

To guide others who have been in her situation, she wrote and published an e-book called Kahit Kabado. Through surveys and people's stories, she gathered the real struggles they face whenever they have to speak, may it be about mental block, filler words, and grammar.

โ€œI conducted a survey first, I had 2,100 Filipinos answering the survey. From that survey, I looked at their struggles, ano โ€˜yung mga common na nahihirapan sila โ€” fear of judgement, grammar, mental block, and then filler words. โ€˜Yon โ€˜yung mga recurring na struggles nila when they speak. I thought na, from these struggles I'm gonna make an E-book, I wrote it in 5 chapters.โ€

Giaโ€™s story shows that confidence is not something we're born with, it is something we build.
