The quiet cost of choosing your own path.

The older I get, the more I realize that age quietly teaches two things: humility and acceptance.

Humility. The kind that corrects the warped ideas we once had about ourselves, our place in the world, and how things were “supposed” to turn out.

Acceptance. That not everything is meant to stay. Some experiences, some paths, and especially some people are only meant to walk with us for a while, no matter how much love or effort we pour into them.

Sometimes letting go is not failure. Sometimes it is simply the only way forward. A quiet and steady kind of progress.

Standing there with a pile of clothes in my hands, I realized how much of my life has been spent going all in for things, experiences, and people, only to watch some of them slowly fade away with time.

For a moment I wondered: what is it that I do that keeps me from being part of the future I once imagined?

But the older I get, the more I realize something else. Maybe it isn’t always about doing something wrong. Maybe it is simply that I have always moved at my own pace.

Lately I have also started noticing something else. Many people around me seem to be moving faster, finding their place in the world and the people they belong to. My independence has taken me down a different road, and sometimes I wonder if that distance was shaped by my past, or simply by my own choices.

I know I am only somewhere in the middle of life, but time has a strange way of making you look ahead. In a few years I will be stepping into another decade, and I sometimes wonder what kind of mark I will have left behind by then.

Maybe that question is not something meant to be answered all at once. Maybe it is something that reveals itself slowly, the same way a path does when you keep walking it.

Life still surprises me. Sometimes in beautiful ways, sometimes in difficult ones. Either way, I will keep learning and keep walking my path. Hopefully I will find the kind of people who choose to grow alongside me.

And maybe, somewhere along the way, someone to share the good parts with too.

As a first time motorcycle owner, seeing this scared me. I initially thought it was a problem with the actual LCD panel so I started looking for parts online. It's incredibly expensive. Almost 19k for the whole panel. That's a month worth of groceries for a small family. So I did more research and found out it was just a problem with the polarizer film itself, and not the LCD panel.

What people call LCD "sunburn" is technically known as LCD polarizer film degradation or damage. Usual causes include excessive exposure to heat and/or UV from direct sunlight, or just simply aging. Since Kakashi is sheltered under my garage roof, I never thought it would have happened. Then again, I haven't used it in almost a year. I probably should have used my motorcycle cover. Oops.

The repair method is simple but delicate. The old polarizer film on the LCD is scraped off, together with the adhesive residue, and then replaced with a new polarizer film. Some panels require both top and bottom to be replaced. Some people who are more confident with their repair skills do it themselves, but I didn't really know where to begin or damage things further so I opted to get someone to help.

The best method of repair is getting a professional to do it for you. So instead of being stupid and paying almost 19k for a whole new panel, I paid a smaller fraction of that by just getting it repaired. That's it. No need to bring it anywhere, just get a home service repairman to do the job for you.

Highly recommending Renz Sarigumba to work on your bike (for almost every issue, apparently). You can reach him through Facebook or contact him directly at +639366323768 - Easy to talk to and is knowledgeable about repairing and maintaining motorcycles.
