Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS):

Signal No. 2

Calamian Islands

Signal No. 1

Occidental Mindoro

Leptospirosis cases in Cebu Province have risen at an alarming rate this month, with 106 suspected infections recorded from Nov. 1 to Nov. 20, according to a SunStar Cebu report citing data from the Cebu Provincial Health Office (PHO). The PHO confirmed that seven deaths have been reported during this period, prompting renewed warnings for the public to avoid contact with floodwater and to seek immediate medical care if symptoms appear. Health officials noted that all current cases remain under confirmatory testing.

PHO officer-in-charge Josephine Arsenal, as reported by SunStar Cebu, emphasized that this surge is a stark departure from previous trends. She noted that the entire year of 2024 registered fewer than 50 cases. From Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2025, the province logged only 90 cases and 11 deaths—figures now overshadowed by the sudden spike seen in just the first 20 days of November.

Public health authorities continue to urge vigilance, stressing the importance of avoiding contaminated water, wearing protective gear when necessary, and seeking medical attention at the earliest signs of illness.
