Heto ako—nandito, ganap, at totoo.

To be q***r is to remember.

We honor those who fought before us 53 years ago and beyond:
The q***rs who defied the Marcos Sr. administration that tied our community down;
The q***rs whose existence and expression were stronger than the forces that tried to suppress us Filipinos;
The q***rs who built a loving and welcoming home for our fellows who were shut from acceptance and freedom.

Our fight for basic human rights and genuine democracy have always been intersectional with the q***r struggle. From the massacre of the pre-colonial babaylan during the Spanish colonization to the bloodshed dictatorship of the Martial Law era, our history teaches us to transform our oppression into collective action.

In these 53 years and beyond, we continue to struggle, we continue to resist, and we continue to remember.

DRAG IS POLITICAL, AND TO BE Q***R IS TO RESIST.

For the longest time, q***r identities have always been expected to do comedy as a form of artistic expression and comfort to escape the realities of our everyday lives. But now, we reclaim and transform that narrative.

In a society marked by systemic corruption, our lived reality is no joking matter. In this reality that we tend to escape, we face the truth of living the results of incompetence, injustice, and self-interest of those from the government who only prioritize luxury over our genuine rights toward a just and equitable society, most especially for the q***r community.

Viñas Deluxe highlights the role of drag not just as entertainment, but as political commentary. The satirical performance exposes the failures of the very systems that should serve us. Drag, like all q***r art, is a powerful tool for confronting and resisting injustice.

We take a stand in uniting and forwarding our calls toward action, not as a performance but as a collective to continuously resist. On September 21, 2025, we invite everyone to take a stand at the EDSA People Power Monument, where we move as a community and as a nation that fights for our dignity and rights.

Get ready when UP Diliman becomes a canvas of resistance and becoming. 🌈

Mx. UP 2025: The Grand Pride Night rises as a gathering where stories breathe and identities refuse to be contained. This is a night where brilliance refuses binaries, where advocacy is inseparable from beauty and power, and where every step, every word, every gesture insists: we are here, unbound and unafraid.

The heart of UP Pride 2025 beats at Quezon Hall, where celebration and struggle converge, and where courage unfolds in the many forms that pride can take. It is a space to imagine otherwise, to honor histories of resistance, and to affirm that joy, too, is political. ✨

We call on bonafide University of the Philippines Diliman students ready to step forward—to take space, to raise the voices, and to let their presence mark this history.

Sign up here until September 24, 2025, and bring your spirit, your story, and your Pride:

We are not your costume. We are not material for your entertainment.

Our gender expression is not a joke—especially when many of us are discriminated for it, and even killed for being who we are. Our lived reality is not a laughing matter, nor should it be used for your entertainment.

To reduce our lived realities to a spectacle for laughter is not just insensitive—it perpetuates the very culture that endangers our lives.

We unequivocally denounce the actions of the UP Men’s Badminton Team, UP Varsity Swimming Team, and UP Men's Beach Volleyball Team who have mocked our community during the recently held UAAP Season 88 UP Pep Rally. Such behaviors have no place in a university that claims to uphold for inclusivity, respect, and equality.

We strongly urge the university administration to hold those involved accountable and to mandate comprehensive gender sensitivity training for all student organizations and varsity teams.

Q***r students, personnel, and staff deserve dignity, respect, and safety—within our university and beyond.
