PWDs are fellow members of society and should receive equal opportunities as able-bodied persons. They are resilient despite their medical conditions, yet they should still be treated with consideration and support.

PWD workers adjust to provide the same services as able-bodied workers, and society should also adjust to having PWD employees in the workforce.

According to feedback, PWD employees are just as capable as able-bodied employees.

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬?

The Philippines has an existing Republic Act that guarantees the PWD's right to integration into society, with equal chances for those with able bodies. This is the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, 1992 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟕𝟐𝟕𝟕.

Even with the said Republic Act, a study by the TESDA, LMIR (Labor Market Intelligence Report) Issue No. 1 s. 2020 shows statistics revealing that only a low percentage of PWDs are employed.

Aside from physical disabilities (external disabilities), there are also a variety of hidden disabilities (internal disabilities) such as:

-Psychosocial disabilities
-Mental disabilities
-Chronic illnesses
-Visual impairments
-Orthopedic disabilities, and
-Communication disabilities.

These disabilities may be the result of illnesses, developed, inborn, or genetic factors.
