| Palawan State University garnered awards at the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Mimaropa Congress held at Marinduque State University last September 4-8.

The University won gold in the Battle of the Bands, through local band Klaro, as well as bronze, through a team of students composed by BA Communication students in the MIMAROPAlikula Short Film Contest with their entry titled "Gurit," that tells the story of a Palawan SUan architecture student, who made her dreams possible through the use of the Tertiary Education Subsidy, a financial aid given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

In an interview with the Publication, Nafha Bonayon, the director of the said short film entry said that despite falling short of the mark, she, together with the team, were proud of the feat earned during the competition. "...[N]akakaproud pa rin naman talaga kasi nakabuo kami ng film despite many challenges at naIrepresent namin ang PSU sa regional cinema."
