Today, we celebrate the birthday of Ms. Rina Lopez, President and Executive Director of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), whose steadfast commitment to education and early childhood development continues to uplift and transform lives across the Philippines.

Since 1999, her vision for accessible, quality learning for every Filipino child has inspired generations of educators, partners, and advocates. Under her leadership, KCFI remains at the forefront of curriculum-based video lessons, teacher training programs, and innovative learning solutions.

: Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. (PMM) and KCFI sign a partnership agreement to produce 1 video lesson on capacitors, aligned with the science curriculum, and to provide 5 Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) packages to beneficiary public schools in Baguio.

The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Janet Inocencio (General Manager, PMM) and Edric Calma (Vice President, KCFI), and was witnessed by Marilyn Tumulak (Jr. Section Manager, PMM) and Christian Gaite (Head of the Learning Solutions Department, KCFI).

: JULY 1–2, 2025: Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) proudly participated in the 2025 League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) CSR Expo, held at the Glorietta Activity Center, Glorietta 2, Makati City.

With the theme “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) for Shared Prosperity,” the expo brought together corporations, foundations, and development organizations to promote inclusive innovation and equitable growth in the country.

KCFI showcased its wide array of educational initiatives, including short-form and full-episode video production, its flagship Knowledge TV and Portable Media Library (KCTV and KCPML) loaded with curriculum-aligned content, and capacity-building training programs like K-CARE and LEEP designed for teachers, principals, parents, and community-based child development workers.

On Day 1, KCFI, in collaboration with the League of Corporate Foundations - LCF, hosted a Knowledge on the Go (KOTG) event led by I Love You 1000: Batang star Marlo Mortel.

The LCF CSR Expo continues to serve as a collaborative platform for exchanging ideas, building networks, and advancing programs that help uplift Filipino communities through impactful Corporate Social Responsibility.

: The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) held its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guild Awards and Medal of Recognition on July 1, honoring organizations that drive meaningful change in people and communities and highlighting how strategic CSR fosters innovation, resilience, and inclusive development among businesses.

The Guild Awards recognize outstanding programs by LCF members across key CSR areas such as education, arts and culture, environment, health, disaster resilience, and enterprise development, while the Medal of Recognition is bestowed on non-member organizations with exemplary initiatives in the same fields.
Among the recipients of the finalist trophy at the Guild Awards was the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc.'s (KCFI) Basa Bilang project, which supports Grade 1-3 learners in becoming confident readers and problem-solvers through the production of curriculum-aligned video lessons, under the Outstanding CSR Project for Arts and Culture category.

Other Lopez Group companies and foundations also received accolades at the Guild Awards and Medal of Recognition. First Gen Corporation won a Medal of Recognition for Threads of Change: The MAMAFASWAS Weavers of Jabonga, while the Oscar M. Lopez Center received the Outstanding CSR Project in Disaster Resilience award for Climate Resilience of the Deaf: Signs for Inclusive Governance and Development. ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya Legacy Building Project was a finalist in the Disaster Resilience category, and the Lopez Group’s Lobo Integrated Area Development (IAD) Program was a finalist for Outstanding CSR Collaborative Project.

: 25 new episodes of Wikaharian for Grade 2, a language and literacy show that supports reading in Filipino and fosters a deeper appreciation of culture among young learners, were officially launched on June 26. The show is produced by the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), with support from the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.

Learners and faculty from Oranbo Elementary School were also invited to the launch and got a preview of the new Wikaharian episodes.

Catch the new episodes of Wikaharian Grade 2 on the Knowledge Channel every Monday to Sunday at 8:00 AM, with replays at 8:00 PM.
