Flos Vloom

Flos Vloom Hi. I'm an aspiring writer. Writing has been my passion as far as I can remember; it was my therapy at first.

It's in writing that I found my wounds healing, so writing for me became a routine and before I knew it, this became an intangible part of me.

What is pain?

Pain is like swimming in the middle of an ocean
I looked around, not a soul is there to help
I scream and cry, no one comes
The only one I have is myself

And sometimes, having myself is enough itself
Without feet and arms, I’ll drowned in misery
And lacking sight, I’d be lost drifting to the sea
I know I should be thankful but the waves makes me feel ungrateful

Cause my feet must keep kicking
Horror creeps in my heart as my legs starts to slow
It feels like lifting weights as I struggle from sinking
But it finds a way to pull me down even if my arms row

I can't even sleep for fear I might dive to deep
Oxygen will escape my respiratory
And the rest of my fleeting days are history
See how anxiety can easily find their way inside me

It forced me to have an eye to eye contact with the world above, and it became the source of my blissfulness
I hated the ocean like hell for the everyday mental pressure
So I focused on the sky to reassure
Yet as I gaze at the clouds, I realize that ocean is actually part of what makes sky my happiness

Since if the water floods my lungs, it longs for the air
And there my body discovers that sky's the good and the ocean is the bad
But what if the situation gets reversed
Then my body this time needs the ocean and not the sky?

I would come to hate the sky and love the ocean, right?
Like happiness and pain
With that understanding
It became easier for everything

So this time I dive just enough
To swim my way up
And meet the sky again
Because no one would blame me if I rest

I just try to remind myself
When my feet gets tired
Just stay still and float
Because it's okay to pause

Just keep on swimming
Someday I'll find an island
And call it my home
Because that haven won't make me swim unless I choose to dive again.
