Chinese singer and actor Liu Yuning has touched countless hearts with a quiet but powerful gesture at every one of his concerts, leaving Row 22, Seat 9 empty in memory of a beloved fan.
The seat is reserved for a teenage girl who was one of his most dedicated supporters. She passed away in 2019 at just 17 years old before getting the chance to see him perform live. Her fan club number was 229, and Liu Yuning has kept that number close to his heart ever since.
At each concert, the seat is marked with white lilies and roses, symbols of purity and remembrance. Often, a light stick is also placed there to symbolize hope and guidance, โin case the night is too dark and she wants to find her way home.โ
Liu has never made this gesture public for attention. In fact, it remained a quiet tribute known only to his loyal fans until recently, when netizens began sharing photos and stories online.
The seat remains untouched, reportedly no one is allowed to sit there, as it holds space for someone who deeply mattered. This act has moved many, reminding us how love and gratitude can live on, long after someone is gone.
