Gusto ko sana ito icontent through a video parang “A day in a life of a Mompreneur Cafe Owner🤭” Pero matatagalan pa kaya through copywriting nalang.

See the difference?

Pareho naman sila mukhang satisfied, both are commenting about the price, yung isa namumurahan yung isa naman namamahalan. 🤔

Sabi ko lagi sa Team, we value each feedback sa business but at the same time we should always know our worth, our value.😊

As a start-up cafe owner, hindi maiiwasan na ma-compare kami sa mga kalapit naming coffee shop.

Nakakakilig talaga when our customers say, "Uyyy ang sarap ng kape at food niyo, mas masarap kesa sa... babalik kami dito!" or "Ang ganda ng coffee shop niyo, tahimik and homey. Dito nalang ako magre-review." Madalas pa, "Dito nalang kami mag Bible study."

These comments and scenarios are super encouraging.

These are comments that we value, and siyempre, mapapareflect ka din.

What I am trying to say is, bakit kapag start-up business lagi questionable yung pricing kahit na satisfied naman in general?

Bakit kapag big brands, kahit mahal or nagtaas ng price, okay lang kahit hindi naman talaga masarap at over hype lang.

At Disciple Brew, we will focus on the quality of food and customer service to our customers.

And to my fellow business owners, believe in your product or brand and what you bring to your customers, not every customer will be the right fit, but you can be the perfect fit for the right customer.

I just really hope that more consumers will support small start-up businesses. Kasi sabi nga, When you support a small business, you support a dream…

A family, employees, a mission, and countless prayers behind the scenes.

As a cafe owner, we promise to keep improving and give our best para sa customer satisfaction. We will continue to deliver our mission, and as long as we can bring joy to people and families, and make them feel loved, we will keep going.

Philippians 4:19 ☕️🙏🏻

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Behind every cup served, every bill paid, every tired but smiling business owner, there is a God continuously providing grace, strength, wisdom, and provision. ❤️

Sa mga Start-up business owners FIGHTING!💪🏻🙏🏻

One of the hardest truths I learned as a cafe owner?

EMPLOYEES DO.

The people working every day...

Sa totoo lang, this became one of the most painful lessons for me as a business owner.

And I learned the hard way that...

“Skills can be trained. Character is harder.”

You can teach someone how to make coffee.

You can teach POS.

You can teach recipes.

You can teach systems.

But integrity…

accountability…

honesty…

Those are different.

And one of the most heartbreaking experiences we went through was realizing na yung mga taong pinaka pinagkakatiwalaan ko, yung core team ko sila pa pala yung gagawa ng hindi maganda.

We experienced internal betrayal inside the business.

Nagsabwatan yung kitchen head, store-in-charge, at cashier.

And honestly?

Mas masakit siya kaysa mawalan ng sales.

Because these were people we trusted.

People we treated like family.

People who knew our struggles behind the business.

Eventually, we had to make hard decisions.

We terminated our store-in-charge.

Then our cashier and kitchen head filed an immediate resignation.

And to make things harder, sila pa yung nagpa-DOLE.

But by God’s grace, we learned the importance of documentation and proper systems.

Everything was documented.

Incident Reports (IRs)

Written reminders

CCTV backups

Records

Operational documentation

And doon ko mas lalo na-realize...

As a business owner, hindi pwedeng puro tiwala lang.

Sobrang halaga ng...

systems

documentation

accountability

clear processes

proper HR discipline

Because when problems happen, emotions are not enough.

You need evidence.

You need structure.

You need protection for both the business and the employees.

And this is the part nobody talks about in entrepreneurship.

People post the aesthetic side of cafe business:

pretty interiors, latte art, and platings.

But behind the scenes?

There are business owners silently dealing with...

betrayal

theft

dishonesty

internal conflict

manipulation

mental exhaustion

That experience changed me as a leader.

It taught me...

to document properly

to create stronger systems

to set clearer boundaries

to separate emotions from leadership

At ito talaga to never ignore red flags just because “Matagal na sila”

Because loyalty without integrity is dangerous.

Or dahil natatakot tayo mahirapan ang operations.

But despite everything…

I still choose to believe that good people exist.

I still honor the team members who stayed loyal, honest, and trustworthy through difficult seasons.

Because as a business owner, sobrang priceless ng taong may malasakit talaga.

We have an employee na mag 2 years na sa amin, and 2 na 1 more than a year sa amin. And I am forever grateful sa kanila.

They are more of "Givers" hindi yung pakabig lang.

Tumaas din ang Sales namin.

The right people don’t just help you run a business.

They help protect the vision you sacrificed so much to build.

Kayo anong kwentong "Employees" niyo?

Anu ano ang challenges na naexperience niyo hiring people?

6 years ago, during the middle of the pandemic, I started a small community called SMART MOMPRENEUR PH.

Honestly… hindi ko naman akalain na lalaki siya the way it did. 😅
What started as simple sharing eventually became a community filled with dreamers, moms, aspiring entrepreneurs, and people na gusto lang din matuto paano magsimula online.

I even had 14k subscribers on YouTube before… and until now, may mga nanunuod pa din sa old videos ko kahit matagal na silang uploaded. 🥹

And one of the best feelings?

Kapag may magmemessage sakin saying…

Grabe. 🤍

Doon ko narealize, sometimes, you never really know kung gaano kalaki yung impact ng simpleng pagshare mo ng knowledge and experience.

Back then, we talked about Canva, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, branding, online selling, hanggang eventually we launched mentorship programs that helped thousands of Filipinos learn how to sell online and even launch their own brands.

And honestly?

Yan talaga yung namiss ko.

Magshare. Magturo. Makipagkwentuhan.
Meet different people. Hear their stories.
Learn from their journeys, too.

NAKAKAMISS TALAGA. 🥹

But in 2023, God led me into a completely different world…
I entered the world of traditional business and became a Cafe owner.

And grabe… ibang klase pala dito. 😅

For almost 3 years, sobrang dami kong natutunan.
The beautiful parts, the heartbreaking parts, the painful and humbling parts.

And to be honest, there were seasons na sobrang lungkot ng journey.

“Worth it pa ba?”

Mapapaisip ka talaga…

At syempre, ayoko doon matapos yung story ko.

There was also a season na sobrang nawalan ako ng confidence because of all the challenges na pinagdaanan ko sa business.

Nanahimik ako.
Silent lang na lumalaban everyday.
Trying to survive. Trying to figure things out.

But siguro dun ko din na-realize… maybe people don’t always need someone who already “made it.”
Sometimes, they just need someone honest enough to share the real journey habang nasa gitna pa ng laban.

Because the truth is…

I’m still in it.
Still building.
Still paying rent.
Still leading a team.
Still solving real cafe problems every single day.

This is real life.

I didn’t just open a cafe…
I fought to keep it alive.

So one day, I prayed and had a conversation with God…

“Lord, ayoko masayang yung heartbreaks, lessons, mistakes, at experiences na pinagdaanan ko… kaya if You allowed me to go through all of this, gamitin Mo na lang ito para makatulong din ako sa iba.

“WE’RE CLOSING…”

Masakit.
Mabigat.
Nakakatakot marinig.

Hindi lang negosyo ang nawawala.
Pangarap. Puhunan. Panahon.
Pati tiwala sa sarili nawala.

And the truth is…

For almost 3 years…

I’ve seen the highs… and the lowest of lows in building a Cafe.

Hindi lang “Kilig coffee shop moments.”
Hindi lang “Instagramable posts.”
Kundi real life cashflow problems, operational stress, team struggles, unexpected expenses😞

There was a season na akala ko magsasara na talaga kami.

Sales? Hindi stable.
Bills? Tuloy-tuloy.
Pressure? Araw-araw.

I remember praying…

“Lord… hindi ko na kaya. Ikaw na ‘to.”
Hindi dramatic.
Hindi scripted.
Totoo.

May pamilya akong pinoprotektahan.
May calling akong hindi pwedeng iwan.

And somehow…
God sustained us.
Hindi dahil perfect ako.
Kundi dahil faithful Siya.

What if hindi na kailangan?
What if may mag-guide na sayo habang maaga pa?

That’s why I’ve been praying for this.

I was once an E-commerce mentor.
At ngayon I am a Cafe owner, I really want to share my story, my journey.

So why not help Cafe owners and aspiring ones na ngayon pa lang…
nalulunod na, nalilito, o natatakot magsimula.

Why listen to me?

Not because I’m perfect.
Not because “successful na ako.”

You should listen to me because…
I’m still in it.
Still building.
Still paying rent.
Still leading a team.
Still solving real Cafe problems every single day.

Hindi ito highlight reel.
Hindi ito theory.
This is real life.

I didn’t just open a Cafe…
I fought to keep it alive.

And now…
I’m finally opening this up.

“Lord… hindi ko na kaya. Ikaw na ‘to.” 🤍🥹

And honestly, timely itong podcast launch na ‘to.

Because this is my Journey.

I’ve seen both sides of business.
Yung highs… at yung sobrang lows.
For 10 years, I was building, dreaming, hustling.
Na-experience ko yung sabi nga nila “paldo.”😅

7 digits. Growth. Yung akala ko FOREVER na.🙈

I was once a Lazada ambassador.
Number 1 yung products ko sa platform.
I was even teaching others how to do e-commerce.
And because of that…
I dreamed bigger.
Kasi diba? Hindi naman masama mangarap ng malaki.

But if I’m being honest…

I also made wrong decisions.
A lot of them.

And everything that followed were consequences I had to face.

2 years ago, I found myself in a place I never imagined.

Lubog sa utang.
Drowning in pressure.
In fear.
In responsibilities I couldn’t escape.

I opened a cafe using investments from people who trusted me.
People who believed in me.
But things didn’t go the way we planned.

A business that started with friends…
slowly became a battlefield of different priorities.

And I had a choice…
to walk away…
or to fight.

I chose to fight.

Because I believed this wasn’t just a business.

May purpose ‘to. May calling ‘to.

Hindi lahat makakaintindi… Marami ang magsasabi nababaliw na ako.

Yeah baliw nga siguro talaga…
hindi ko alam…
ganito pala kahirap.

There were nights I would cry and say…
“Lord… hindi ko na kaya. Ikaw na ‘to.”

One step away from closing.
One decision away from losing everything.
And in those moments…
I really felt…
Wala na. Tapos na.

So I prayed the hardest prayer of my life:
“Lord… if You allow this to happen… I will trust You. For You give… and You take away.”

Masakit.
Sobrang sakit.
But in that surrender…
there was peace.

And then… God showed up.
Not always in big miracles.
Not always in loud breakthroughs.
But in people.

Bigla nalang may tutulong.

I KNOW IT WAS GOD.

Today…

2 years and 5 months later…
We are still standing.

Hindi dahil magaling ako, kundi dahil tapat Siya.
May challenges pa rin.
Pero hindi na ako nalulunod.

Because God didn’t just change my situation…
He changed the people around me.

Real people.

Not just “hi” and “hello” friends.
People who will message you at 9PM, “kape tayo,” and you end up talking until 3AM.
People you can cry with. Laugh with. Be real with.
No filters.
Just grace.
And I will never forget this…

God gave me a husband na kapag wala na akong lakas manalangin siya ang nagpe-pray para sa akin. My Parents who believes in me even when I doubt myself.

At doon ko na-realize, God didn’t just send help.
He surrounded me with people who love me, pray for me, and fight with me.

So let me just share 3 LESSONS I LEARNED sa journey ko…

1. PEOPLE
Partnership is not just about being aligned in vision, dapat aligned din sa values, commitment, at roles.
God placed the right people in my journey.

Mentors. Friends. Church community.

May kasama ako.

2. READINESS

Hindi lang ito financial game.
It’s not just Bank Check
It’s a heart check.

Mental. Emotional. Spiritual.

Hindi lahat may puso para sa negosyo. And this journey will test everything in you.

3. FAITH

But every time I’m about to give up…
God reminds me.

Through a message.
Through a post.
Through a person.

Disciple Brew was never just a business.
It became my classroom.
My breaking point.
My rebuilding place.
It’s where God is teaching me stewardship, obedience, and surrender.

Hindi pa ito yung success story.

Nasa proseso pa din.

So if you’re in your darkest season right now…
Kapatid… kapit lang.

Talk to God.
Cry to Him.
Be honest with Him. Grabe din talaga kami magusap ni Lord.

Pray not just for provision…
pray for the right people.

Because not every opportunity is from God…
but every person He sends has a purpose.

GOD KNOWS.
GOD SEES.
GOD PROVIDES.

And sometimes…
He sends miracles in the form of people. 🤍

Inhale. Exhale.
Tapos laban ulit.
FIGHTING. 💪🏻👆🏻🙏🏻

I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge one of the few people who believed na kaya ko makabangon. He is always there pangaralan ako at iguide ako sa tuwing madadapa ako. Tito Boni de Jesus. I am forever grateful. Kulang ang salitang salamat.

Listen to my Kapayaman Story: Disciple Brew Journey.
I pray that in every part of my story, the pain, the process, and the victories, makita mo hindi kung gaano ako kalakas, kundi kung gaano ka-faithful si Lord sa bawat season.

I am Trixie.
I once had it all… and I once lost almost everything.
But I’m still here.
Still fighting.
Still standing.
Not because I’m strong🥹
but because God is faithful♥️🙏🏻

Lahat ng papuri ay sa’Yo, Lord.
Thank You for loving me. 🤍🙏🏻

LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION.

Everyone says it like it’s the only rule that matters.

But here’s the truth most Cafe owners learn the hard way👇(🙋🏻‍♀️ Isa na ako doon🙈)

Mababang rent doesn’t always mean savings.
High foot traffic doesn’t always mean sales.
And a “perfect spot” sa mata can still drain you if the timing, systems, and strategy aren’t right.

In this Behind the Bean, I’m sharing what I wish someone told me earlier… (Kung alam ko lang talaga🙈) the real pros and cons of mall Cafe, standalone spaces, and home-based setups, plus the questions you must ask before signing that lease. (Kalma ka muna, wag excited!😅)

If you’re dreaming of opening a cafe or already running one, this might save you from an expensive mistake.

Watch until the end to hear the long-term dream behind Disciple Brew

And why choosing the right location matters more than choosing the “best” one.

Behind the Bean ☕

Today, we want to honor one of the most important parts of Disciple Brew…

Our EMPLOYEES!☕️♥️

Employees carry the weight of the everyday.

They show up on quiet days, exhausting shifts, and moments that often go unseen.

In our two years as a Cafe, we’ve had many employees…

some stayed…
some left…
some taught us hard lessons along the way.

But through it all, God still blessed us with people who chose to stay.

Today, we’re grateful to celebrate the work anniversary of our Team Leader, Nicole.

Thank you for stepping up, leading with patience, and choosing Disciple Brew even when it wasn’t easy.

You are a blessing to our Team.

We trust whatever plans the Lord has for you.

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” — Colossians 3:23

BREAKTHROUGH…

Dati akala ko ang breakthrough…

Biglaang dagsa ng tao, puno yung store…
SOLD OUT na menu…
Yung “Lord, thank You” moment.

Pero sa Disciple Brew, natutunan ko ito…

May mga araw na tahimik ang Cafe…
Empty seats…

Praying for your breakthrough.
Tara Kape Tayo!☕️🙏
